Chapter 233
Nancy was flipping through the last pages of a report on marginalized groups, her face growing more serious with each turn.
These groups faced the harshest discrimination: the mute, the disfigured, and even those without limbs.
Ramona watched her closely, her tone a bit cryptic. “Lena, I really hope you can show everyone that even if someone isn’t ‘whole,‘ they can still rock stunning outfits and jewelry.”
Nancy nodded slightly. “Don’t worry, I will.”
With that, Nancy pulled out her notes and began elaborating on her vision.
The conversation between the two grew more animated, and they lost track of time. Ramona even convinced Nancy to join her for lunch at the cafeteria.
As the sun began to set, Ramona grabbed Nancy’s hand. “You’re amazing. We’re definitely becoming friends. Let’s hit a bar for a few drinks and wait for your boyfriend to pick you up.”
Nancy instinctively wanted to decline, but Ramona playfully insisted, “It’s just around the corner. Relax, I know the owner. It’s perfectly safe.”
Nancy hesitated for a moment before agreeing. “Alright, but let me text my boyfriend to come get me later.”
Half an hour later, at a cozy café, Judson’s phone screen lit up. He hardly noticed Michael’s words as he quickly grabbed his phone. When he read the message from Nancy, Judson’s smile froze, a chill of displeasure spreading across his face.
Michael’s heart skipped a beat. “Did something happen with Nancy?”
Judson stood up with a stern expression. “Ramona took Nancy to MT Bar for drinks. I need to go pick her up.”
Michael chuckled, shaking his head. “MT is a well–known quiet bar. Nancy and Ramona will be fine there.”
“Still, what if someone hits on Nancy?” Judson muttered, already heading for the door, his steps urgent.
His mind raced with the thought of someone trying to steal his beloved Nancy away.
Watching Judson hurry off, Michael decided not to follow. After all, Ramona was a part–owner of MT; Nancy wouldn’t have any trouble there.
Though, he admitted, given Nancy’s striking beauty, she’d certainly attract attention.
MT Bar.
Nancy slipped her phone back into her pocket.
Ramona noticed and teased, “Lena, you and your boyfriend are really in tune. I thought he was the only one who cared so much, but it looks like you do too.”
Nancy grinned. “He’s definitely clingy.”
And he was also likely lurking nearby all day, just to be close.
Ramona pondered for a moment, her gaze intent on Nancy. “So, do you like him? I think he’s way better than Cyrus.”
“Cyrus is ancient history.” Nancy shrugged, “There’s really no comparison with Judson.”
Cyrus was a jerk, while Judson was genuinely decent.
Ramona chuckled, about to make another quip when-

A loud noise interrupted her.
A group of men suddenly entered the sparsely populated bar, heading straight for them with drinks in hand “Hey there, gorgeous. Can I buy you a drink?” The bald man leading them leered at Nancy, his eyes gleaming. Not just him–the other seven or eight men eyed Nancy with intense interest, practically drooling over her. Nancy stared at the glass placed in front of her, her gaze steady and unfazed.
Ramona stepped forward, frowning and positioning herself protectively in front of Nancy. “We’re not interested. Please leave.”
With that, she shot a knowing glance at the bartender.
