Ramona was taken aback for a moment, then nodded earnestly. “Of course, you already are my friend.”
“Then there’s no need to say thank you” Nancy smiled gently, “Take care.”
With that, she got into the car with Judson and drove away.
Ramona stood there, watching the direction Nancy had disappeared in. Even though the car was long gone, Nancy’s words kept replaying in her mind.

Ramona’s heart fluttered with excitement. Could she really have a friend?
Before she could fully process the rush of emotions, she felt a weight on her shoulder. Looking up, she saw Michael’s easygoing face next to hers. She brushed his hand off her shoulder, asking, “What are you doing

“I was worried Judson might lose his cool and reveal his identity or do something drastic to Malcolm. Luckily, as soon as Nancy and Judson parked, Malcolm took off.” Michael remarked with his usual sharp wit.
Ramona smiled knowingly. “Don’t worry, even if he loses his cool, he’ll hold it together. Mr. Buchanan wouldn’t want to leave Lena,”
Michael shrugged, unconvinced. “True enough. Seeing you’re alright, I’ll head out now.”
As Michael turned to leave, Ramona opened her mouth to say something but decided against it.
Lena was willing to be her friend, but should she tell her about Judson’s real identity? Yet, her current standing in the Iverson family was largely due to Judson’s support.
She decided to keep quiet for now. If Judson ever hurt Lena, she would tell her everything.
Meanwhile, inside the smoothly cruising car…
“Nancy, that guy was the mastermind, wasn’t he?” Judson asked, his grip on the steering wheel betraying his simmering anger.
Nancy didn’t deny it. “Ms. Iverson will handle it. You don’t need to get involved this time.”
Judson felt a twinge of jealousy. “Nancy, I’m your man. How can you rely on Ramona?”
Nancy sensed his jealousy and calmly replied, “Ramona and I are friends, and besides, we’re future business partners.”
Judson huffed, clearly displeased. “But you were both in danger today.”
“How about I go find Ramona and you come along with me?” Nancy suggested with a hint of exasperation.
Judson hesitated, pursing his lips. “That’s what I should do, Nancy. If you really want to make me happy, then…then give me a kiss?”
Nancy glanced at Judson, noting his bashful yet hopeful expression, his cheeks tinged with red.
“Then keep being upset,” she teased.
Judson groaned, “Nancy!”
Nancy calmly looked away. She had no intention of giving in to his demand.
