The thin strap of her dress slipped further, nearly reaching her wrist.
Caroline clutched the fabric to her chest, her voice sharp. “David, stop acting like a beast!”
Gone was her earlier nonchalance. In an instant, he had completely overpowered her. Because he always had these shameless, ruthless ways of breaking down mydefences!
“Aren’t you quite skilled at pleasing men? So confident, so composed?” David taunted. “Why is it that when it comes to your own husband, you suddenly start resisting?”
He leaned in closer, his words dripping with provocation. “Or do you just enjoy laughing and flirting with other men more?”
“Caroline, don’t forget, I’m the one you should be pleasing the most. Show me the same enthusiasm you had when you were drinking with them. I think you’re quite good at it, stop pretending to be so pure.”
David tightened his grip and gave a sharp tug, the delicate strap snapped. Her dress slipped down in an
instant.
If she hadn’t been clutching it so tightly, it would have fallen completely.
“You’re insane, this is…the car!” Caroline hissed. “Are you really that desperate? Didn’t Elizabeth satisfy you?”
David would never tell her the truth, that aside from that one night at the hotel, when he had mistakenly ended up with Elizabeth, he had never touched her again!
