Chapter13
Valerie suddenly felt a bit touched, and her vision blurred in an instant. She had never received a “happy birthday” from Terrence before
Surprisingly, she received it on the last day before her leave.
But when she was about to text back, saying thank you to Terrence, another message popped up.
Margaret sent her a photo.
Valerie clicked it and saw that it was a plate of pasta.
Margaret:“Terry made this pasta for me. I heard that today is your birthday, so I specifically asked him to cook for me. Well, I can have Te homemade cooking while you can’t. What a pitiful woman!”
Valerie’s heart instantly hardened.
She opened the chat box with Terrence and texted: “I want you to make a plate of pasta for me.”
After sending the text, Valerie waited for a long time.
It was not until midnight that Valerie received a reply from Terrence.“I know nothing about cooking. What do you want to eat? I’ll ask Theodore to buy it for you.”
Valerie smiled bitterly, thinking, “Know nothing about cooking, or just don’t want to cook for me?”
She stared at the faded scar on her wrist, and the smile on her face grew bigger.
Back at her own home, she had never done any housework.
But in order to please Terrence, she learned to cook the dishes he liked.
Even if she accidentally cut her fingers or got blisters, they still gritted her teeth and got on with it. Snapping back from her thoughts, she texted Terrence:“No need.”
Terrence didn’t need to do anything for her anymore.
The next day, after Valerie got up and went downstairs, she unexpectedly saw Terrence.
A trace of panic flashed through her heart.
“Why are you here?”
“Yesterday was your birthday, but I had something very important to do and couldn’t spend the night with you. I will make it up to you today,” Terrence said in an indifferent tone.
Valerie sneered softly in her heart, “Yeah. Accompanying Margaret is, of course, the most important thing to you.”
“No need. I have something else to do today,” she said lightly.
Terrence suddenly stood up, his tall figure exuding a strong sense of oppression. “Are you hiding something from me?”
