Chapter 321 Tonight, He’s Going Back to the Ellison Residence.
Elizabeth only dared to think these words in her heart–she would never say them out loud.
Everyone believed she was favored because of her child, spoiled beyond measure, getting anything she wanted. But only she knew what her life was really like.
This child… David had almost made her get rid of it.
In private, he never spoke to her with kindness,
Her existence was nothing more than a tool for David to provoke Caroline.
“Yes, Mr. Ellison, I deleted it.” Elizabeth held up her phone for him to see. “Take a look and confirm.”
David didn’t even lift his eyelids. Sitting in the dim light, his expression unreadable, he gave nothing away.
The car eventually pulled up at the hospital’s inpatient ward.
Inside the hospital room, Elizabeth clung to David’s arm. “Mr. Ellison, stay with me tonight, okay? I haven’t been sleeping well. I keep having nightmares, but if you’re here, I know I’ll sleep soundly till morning.”
David cast her a cold glance..
That one look was enough–Elizabeth already knew his answer.
She had been delusional again. As if David would ever stay the night with her…
Sure, he visited her at the hospital every day and sat with her for a while, but he always left without looking back.
He never stayed longer than thirty minutes.
After leaving the hospital, he was either off to socialize or resting at a hotel.
Everyone thought he lived with her, but in reality, it was all just an act–for Caroline’s sake.
“Don’t wear heels anymore,” David said flatly. “No pregnant woman should be as careless as you.”
“I understand, Mr. Ellison.”
“Caroline stopped wearing heels the moment she got pregnant. And you?”
Elizabeth lowered her head, resentment and frustration flashing across her face, but she could only respond obediently. “It was my fault, Mr. Ellison. It won’t happen again. I just wanted to look good for the
celebration banquet, to make you proud, so I-”
“It’s unnecessary,” he cut in coldly.
Whether she looked good or not had never mattered to him.
The only thing that lingered in his mind was Caroline’s beauty.
This past month, he had distanced himself from her, acted as if she didn’t exist, and barely set foot in the Ellison residence. Yet, not only had she endured it, but she also…

Caroline looked even better than before. Is she actually happier, more at case without me around?
Finished
David recalled the moment he stepped into the banquet hall, when she turned her head and laughed with the person beside her.
Her eyes shimmered like crescent moons, her entire presence exuding a soft, pure warmth.
Once again, David felt the sting of disappointment. His heart clenched with frustration.
What he had wanted to see was the opposite.
After a month of his cold indifference, Caroline should have been a wreck–miserable, haggard, realizing how much she needed him, desperate to win him back.
But instead? She was thriving.
Fine. Fine. Looks like tonight, I need to return to the Ellison residence. There was no way I’d let Caroline live so comfortably. David smirked to himself.
Their relationship was only interesting when they were tormenting each other.
David pulled his arm free from Elizabeth’s grasp and turned to leave.
“Mr. Ellison…” Elizabeth called after him, reluctant to let go. “Can’t you stay a little longer?”
Even though she had been with Andrew, deep down, she still leaned toward David.
