Chapter31
Terrence held his hand and said, “You too.”
Three seconds later, the two of them simultaneously let go of each other’s hands.
Ricky casually asked Terrence, “When do you plan to leave D.C., Mr. Crawford?”
Valerie’s face flashed across Terrence’s mind.
This time, she was really angry.
When she fell asleep last night, there were still tears in the corners of her eyes.
After years of being together with her, Terrence had never once comforted Valerie when she was mad at him.
Every time, before he realized that Valerie was upset, she had already calmed down on her own and returned to his side with a smile.
So…
He never felt that Valerie needed to be coaxed.
But this time, he had to do so.
However, it was not difficult to please Valerie.
“I’m staying for a few more days.”
“Oh…” Ricky’s gentle smile had a hint of cunningness.“That’s perfect. I will be getting married tomorrow, please come to my wedding.” “You hold the wedding the same day you get registered?”
“Yes, because it is an arranged marriage, we don’t plan on having a grand celebration. It will be just a small gathering.”
The Murray family was one of the richest families in Washington D.C. However, the wedding was so shabby that it made Terrence curious about the bride.
“Who is your fiancée?”
“You will find this out tomorrow.” Ricky had a hint of a smile in his eyes. “As you know, my bribe was chosen for me.
“Originally, my mother–in–law had arranged for her little sister to marry me, but when she saw that I was disabled, she pushed the less favored older sister onto me. When you see her, Mr. Crawford, you will know.”
Terrence squinted his eyes, feeling that there was more to Ricky’s words.
However, he was not interested in his fiancée. He exchanged a few words with Ricky and then left.
The assistant waited a long time before asking Ricky, “Mr. Crawford, why didn’t you just tell Mr. Crawford it is Ms. Valerie Schwartz that you’re marrying tomorrow?”
Ricky smiled contentedly, his delicate features glowing in the warm yellow light.“It wouldn’t be interesting if the mystery was uncovered too quickly.”
