Chapter 335 The Real One Getting Kicked Out Is You
Andrew nodded frantically. “Yes, yes!”
David’s lips curled into a smile, but his eyes were icy cold. “But I also heard you tell my wife… that she could be kicked out of the Ellison family at any time, while you, as the son of the Ellison family, would always have a secure position?”
Andrew didn’t dare make a sound.
If David had heard that, it meant he had been here for a while–watching, listening, lurking in the shadows without revealing himself.
It wasn’t until Andrew was about to lay a hand on Caroline that he finally stepped in to stop him.
A chill ran down Andrew’s spine.
Thankfully, he had only been trying to show off in front of Caroline. He hadn’t said anything else— especially not about Elizabeth. If David had overheard that…
The consequences would have been unimaginable!
David straightened, standing tall. “Andrew, the one who can be kicked out of the Ellison family at any time is you.”
His tone was light, almost casual, yet it carried a suffocating pressure.
“David!” Andrew pleaded. “I–I was just trying to scare Caroline, that’s all! She’s always being ungrateful, constantly upsetting you. I couldn’t stand it anymore, so I thought I’d teach her a little lesson on your behalf. I didn’t mean anything else, I swear!”
“Oh? Is that so?”
“Yes, yes! David, we’re family, we’re brothers–we’re like limbs to each other! But women? Women are like clothes, you can change them whenever you want. I was just trying to–trying to…”
The more he spoke, the darker David’s expression became.
Andrew wisely shut his mouth.
Clearly, this attempt at flattery had backfired–badly.
“Caroline is the woman I married. As long as she’s by my side, she is your sister–in–law and the mistress of the Ellison residence,” David said coolly. “It’s never your place to dictate anything to her.”
“Yes, David, I understand! I’ll never do it again!”
David cast him a sidelong glance. “If I wanted, you’d be out of the Ellison family before she ever would. Got that?”
Andrew’s heart nearly stopped. He frantically nodded, apologizing again and again, almost ready to drop to his knees.
Now was not the time to make an enemy out of David. He had to endure–for now. Once Elizabeth got

For now, patience was key!
Finished
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, sister–in–law,” Andrew shifted on his knees, facing Caroline. “Please don’t hold it against me. I was wrong. From now on, I will treat you with the utmost respect. You’re my sister–in–law–I wouldn’t dare be disrespectful again!”
Caroline simply said, “You’re blocking my elevator.”
She had work to do. This little drama had already wasted enough of her time.
Andrew quickly scrambled to the side, making way.
As Caroline stepped into the elevator, she remarked, “Actually, Andrew did say one thing that made sense -brothers are like limbs, women are like clothes. I’m just an outsider. Hardly worth the two of you turning against each other and making such a spectacle
Then, she turned her head slightly, looking at David. “And I won’t be grateful just because you stood up for me. You didn’t do it for me—you just can’t stand the thought of your woman being looked down on by someone else.”
“The only person allowed to look down on me… is you, David.”
She knew him too well.
Every bit of humiliation she had suffered had come from his hands.
Anyone else? They don’t have the right.
David met her gaze. “So I helped you, and I was wrong for that?”
Caroline pulled up a smile. “Thanks. Message received, Mr. Ellison.”
She stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for her floor. Time to go.
