Chapter51
Valerie walked alone in the community. Even though there were streetlights, her footsteps couldn’t help but quicken. When she arrived at the doorstep, she saw two shadows outside the door. She cautiously asked, “Who is it?”
Two figures emerged from the darkness.
Valerie’s heart skipped a beat when she saw the police uniform.
“We are from the police station in Houston. Someone reported that Tearie Entertainment was suspected of being involved in money laundering with overseas connections. Please come with us.”
Valerie’s mind buzzed for a moment.“What did you say?”
“Please cooperate with our investigation. These are our credentials.”
After getting off the plane, Valerie’s mind finally stopped buzzing, but her hands and feet were still icy cold.
“Wait here for a moment.”
A policewoman took Valerie to a small room.
Valerie immediately saw Terrence in the room.
He sat on the sofa, exuding an unattainable air of nobility. On his artistically sculpted face, there was a rare hint of weariness.
Seeing Terrence here, Valerie didn’t find it strange at all.
Tearie Entertainment was owned by her and Terrence.
It was reasonable for Terrence to be here.
She averted her and took a seat on the chair farthest away from Terrence.
Terrence frowned.
Not having seen her for such a long time, he thought Valerie would be happy to see him.
-He didn’t expect
her to ignore him.
Terrence’s face grew darker and darker.
Finally, he got up and walked up to Valerie, staring down at her from above.
“Are you
mute? You don’t even say hello to me.”
Terrence was too close.
Valerie could clearly smell the scent of mint on him.
She frowned and looked up to meet Terrence’s gaze. Her cold eyes no longer held the infatuation and obsession for him. There was only a deep calmness that seemed bottomless.
Terrence felt very annoyed.
He raised his hand and held onto Valerie’s chin.
Her head was forced to tilt higher, revealing the graceful line of her shoulders and neck.
The chill in her eyes deepened even further.
