Chapter 94
Everyone looked at Garrett Yates and Chloe, bathed in the spotlight. Garrett Yates, with a microphone, gave a heartfelt confession. Chloe pretended to be shy, but clearly enjoyed the
attention.
Alice watched, a sardonic smile playing on her lips. Even without her past life interference, Garrett Yates was still confessing to Chloe. Chloe, a rising influencer, was popular with her innocent beauty.
Jack, seeing Garrett Yates, gave Andrew Yates a warning glance. Andrew Yates gulped. He hadn’t expected Garrett Yates to be there. After Garrett Yates’s public confession to Alice, Andrew Yates had called his uncle to keep Garrett Yates in line, preventing further such incidents. Garrett Yates hadn’t appeared again until now. Bad timing.
Alice looked away.“It doesn’t matter. We’re wearing masks; no one knows who’s who. Let’s have fun.”
“I like your easygoing attitude, Alice. Let’s go to a booth; the VIP rooms aren’t as lively.” Bringing a minor to a bar, he couldn’t request female companions. Male companions were even less likely. A booth would offer a better atmosphere.
A waiter approached. Andrew Yates ordered drinks quickly.“Alice, what will you have?”
“A cocktail, something pretty.”
Remembering
Alice’s drunken episode, Jack said to the waiter,“A soda.”
“I don’t want soda! Not drinking at a bar is like not coming!” Alice was frustrated.
Jack sighed, remembering the barbecue incident. He stared at Alice.“Forgot about that? You don’t know your limits, huh?”
Alice remembered, feeling guilty.“I’m not a good drinker, but I don’t think I did anything embarrassing, right?”
Andrew Yates looked at Jack curiously.“Alice’s a good girl; she wouldn’t cause trouble when drunk.”
Jack avoided their gazes.“When you’re drunk, you’re harmless.” The memory of that night resurfaced, unsettling him.
Andrew Yates suggested, “A low–alcohol cocktail?”
“Okay.” Alice agreed; she didn’t want to get drunk again.
Alice went to the dance floor. Garrett Yates, in the VIP area, whistled.“She dances well.”
Chloe felt a pang of jealousy. She was keeping Garrett Yates on a string, unsure if she wanted him. But after receiving the suspicious call from her supposed father, she needed a wealthy boyfriend. Garrett Yates’s confession was convenient.
Chloe gritted her teeth.“Ayuan, let’s dance.”
“Okay.” Garrett Yates watched Alice dance, but he was mindful of Chloe; he’d just won her over, and intimacy wasn’t yet on the table.
Alice noticed Garrett Yates and Chloe approaching. Annoyed, she moved away. She bumped into Luke. What are the odds?
“Alice, stop!”

know how much the team’s first–round elimination is costing us?”
Alice’s tone was cold.“I don’t care. Let go.”
“Investors are withdrawing. Sponsors are cancelling contracts. Team members want to leave. It’s all your fault!” Luke was stressed. Everything had been going well; after the revival match, investors were eager. Now, the finals loss had ruined everything.
Alice pushed him away.“I didn’t compete;
it’s none of my business.”
“You didn’t compete, and we lost! How can you say it’s not your fault?!” He dragged her towards the exit.“I have a meeting with investors; you need to explain.”
“Let go! Why should I explain?”
“Because you’re the reason the team exists! You can’t just quit!” He glared at her.“Without wouldn’t have created the team or invested so much money.”

“You’re wrong. You wanted to create a team. I helped you plan, convince Second Brother, and even competed.”
“You have a stake in the team. Shouldn’t you help when there’s a problem?” Luke was stressed; Alice was at a bar.
He grabbed her.“Explain to the investors! Now!”
Alice threw a drink at Luke.“Get real. I’m not helping.”
“You have no choice.” He pulled her into a VIP room. Several middle–aged men sat with female companions. Luke said, “You need to explain. You quit out of spite. If you were here, we would have won.”
The men said, “She’s too arrogant. Irresponsible to quit like that.”
“We invested because of her.”
“We invested because of her amazing performance in the revival match. The twelve–hit combo!” – Luke’s face flushed; he hadn’t told Alice about this. Alice was speechless; Luke had been using her

Luke tried to change the subject.“She’s young and immature. I’ve already reprimanded her.” “If you want to apologize, show sincerity. Drink these.” A man poured ten beers.“Drink these, then we’ll talk.”
Alice looked at the beers.“I’m not
drinking.” Why apologize by
drinking?
Luke’s expression changed.“Drink it! I’ll drink the rest if you can’t.” Only Alice could appease the investors.
Alice looked at him coldly.“No.”
“Alice, this is your only chance to apologize. If you drink, I won’t hold a grudge.”
