Chapter 229

Suddenly seeing such a scene, Jaime’s veins bulged on his forehead, his breath caught, his face turned pale, and his eyes harbored a dangerous
storm.
“What did you do to Marie?” Jaime clenched his fist, with veins popping on the back of his hand.
Lennon chuckled lightly.
“We were boyfriend and girlfriend, what else could we do?”
This sentence is like the final straw that broke the camel’s back.
Jaime’s chest tightened, feeling as if all the blood in his body had congealed, and his head throbbed with a splitting headache.
He had once self–torturingly wondered if Mariela and Lennon had already slept together.
But that was just imagination after all.
At this very moment, when Jaime saw the ambiguous traces on Lennon’s body with their own eyes, there was a split second where everything went pitch black in front of them.
A sharp ringing in the ears accompanied by a pounding heartache, and he felt himself on the verge of collapsing.
The next second, Jaime went berserk like a wild beast. His eyes were bloodshot, and he roared in anger as he charged forward.
Lennon took a step back and sidestepped, then his fist slammed hard into Jaime’s face, while he also lifted his foot and kicked Jaime forcefully.
Jaime’s face was filled with intense pain, and his head was buzzing.
He kept retreating, his body hitting the wall of the corridor repeatedly, making a dull thud sound.
“Huh.” Lennon’s eyes flashed with mockery.“Jaime, I gave you a chance. Three years ago, Marie got together with you, and I had convinced myself that as long as she was happy, I would support you both. But what about you? How did you treat her?”
Jaime’s heart felt as if it were being tightly squeezed by an invisible giant hand, repeatedly crushed, causing him to gasp for breath in pain.
Lennon didn’t give him any breathing time and immediately questioned, “Jaime, what qualifications and position do you have to question me?”
This sentence was deadly.
Jaime was briefly confused.
Yeah.
What qualifications does he have now?
He destroyed the relationship with Mariela himself in the past, and he pushed her towards someone else himself!
Lennon looked at Jaime with a contemptuous and mocking gaze, as if he was looking at a wretched dog.
He despised men like this the most.
Not understanding the value when having, only pretending to be sentimental after losing.
Late affection is cheaper than grass, who is he pretending to be now?
After a moment of silence, Jaime’s confusion vanished from his face, as if he had found a legitimate reason for himself.
He tugged at his lips, revealing a smile, the bloodstains on his lips making him look crazy and paranoid.
