That night, neither the Parker nor the Reed family slept. The Reeds was hoping to downplay the situation because none of those high–society folks have clean hands. Olivia’s mother had dealt with several mistresses herself, so she brushed off Olivia’s outrageous behavior as just a bit too extreme. Besides, Olivia had already paid a hefty price; her unborn child was lost, and she might never be able to conceive again thanks to that kick from Julian.
The Parker family, however, insisted on a divorce. They couldn’t have a woman with multiple lives on her hands as their
matriarch.
As the two families argued, police officers burst in and arrested Olivia in front of everyone.
Overnight, the Parker family was trending on social media. The once idyllic newlyweds were now separated: the wife in jail, the husband hospitalized. Chaos reigned, but Julian couldn’t focus on that. All he wanted was to find me and apologize.
But he couldn’t find me, and the people he sent to look for me
always came back with the same answer: no.
The once formidable businessman, who ruled the business
world, was now bedridden after all these blows. He stared out
the window, his eyes hollow, like a puppet without a soul.
It was in that moment he finally realized just how wrong he had been. He’d become an executioner, pushing the woman who truly loved him into hell. Every time he closed his eyes, he could see my face, filled with despair and tears, hear my desperate pleas. But what did he do? Ignored me, didn’t believe me,
care at all.

When Julian returned to the empty villa, all he found was silence. Once, I would leap out from behind him, jumping on his back, playfully calling his name. He’d always chuckle, carrying me around. Sometimes his buddies would tease him, saying I didn’t seem like a younger partner but more like a child bride. Even during drinking sessions, some would drunkenly ask if he had feelings for me. Every time, Julian would firmly deny it. Besides the ten–year age gap, he saw her as a child. And his heart belonged to Olivia. From the moment he laid eyes on her, he knew she was the one. Any strange feelings he had
towards me were brushed aside.
But now, standing in that empty villa, he found himself inexplicably drawn to my room. It looked just as I had left it, as if I might pop out from a corner and give him a scare.
He stood at the door, lost in thought for a long moment before stepping inside. He didn’t touch anything, simply walking the perimeter of the room, each object triggering a memory.
When he reached my desk and opened the drawer, it was once filled with my deepest affections for him. Now, it was empty.
In a daze, he could almost see the scene of me tearing up love letters and photos right in front of him. And the countless times I said I didn’t like him echoed in his ears.
A wave of indescribable pain suddenly wrapped around his heart. The intensity of it made him double over. His hand, resting on the drawer, gripped the edge tightly, the pain making his knuckles turn white.
Finally, as the sharp pain subsided, an overwhelming emotion took its place. Just as Julian was about to figure out what that feeling was, his assistant burst in, excitedly telling him I had been found.
