Jack’s eyes were dark and cold, radiating arrogance.
The trainer, angered, said, “[Why should I apologize? You should thank me for warning you about these gold–digging women!]”
Jack narrowed his eyes; his hand was about to move, but Alice grabbed it.
Stepping forward, she glared at the trainer.“[You must have been scammed badly. You hate women so much; why don’t you crawl back into your mother’s womb? Don’t embarrass yourself.]” He hated women, yet he was born of one.
The trainer’s face changed.“[Say that again?]”
“[Didn’t you say women are gold diggers? Your mother’s a gold digger then? She scammed your father, right? And then birthed you, this disgusting man.]”
When facing false accusations, never fall into the trap of self–justification.
Alice’s words enraged him. The owner pushed the trainer.“[Enough! Want to go to jail? There are cameras.]”
The trainer glared at Alice and stormed off. The owner apologized to Jack and Alice.“[I didn’t expect him to be like this. I should have dealt with that client earlier.]”
No one expected this to happen.
Jack’s expression was grim; he didn’t speak.
Alice quickly said, “[I understand.
These things happen. It’s not your fault

Jack suddenly said, “[That’s it?]”
The owner was confused. He looked at the boxing trainer, who coughed.“[This happened at our gym; we should compensate Ms. Alice waive her fees.]”

Alice shook her head.“[No need. If I hadn’t fought back, it would have been over. But I couldn’t let it go.]”
She couldn’t bear the thought of other girls being harmed.
Jack said, “[No need to tolerate it. Good job. Don’t let people take advantage of you!]”
Alice nodded, realizing she was still holding his hand. She awkwardly let go.“[You were going to keep fighting!]”
She’d never seen Jack so angry. Usually calm and aloof, he’d been ruthless. But fighting on camera was unwise. So, she stopped him.
Jack mumbled,“[They were being disrespectful.]”
The trainer looked at Jack’s wound.“[Sir, get a tetanus shot. It’s a metal cabinet wound.]” He couldn’t afford any problems for Jack. He wasn’t a professional trainer; he was Jack’s bodyguard. Jack said,“[It’s minor.]”
Alice frowned.“[It’s not minor! Go to the hospital.]”

Jack clearly didn’t want to. The owner said to the trainer, “[Take them to the hospital. Ms. Alice’s hand is cut.”
Jack grabbed Alice’s hand.“[Injured?]”
There was a cut on her hand; she hadn’t noticed. Before she could speak, he pulled her.“[Hospital.]”
“Just some antiseptic.]” No need to go to the hospital.
But she saw his wound; it was scabbing, but he needed a tetanus shot.
The trainer drove them to a private hospital. Jack paused at the entrance; he could easily run into acquaintances.
The trainer said anxiously, “[It’s arranged.]” Jack couldn’t have an incident. Jack went to the director’s office; the floor was cleared. The director arrived with a first–aid kit, surprised to see a girl with Jack.“[Your girlfriend’s hurt?]”
Alice said, “[I’m not his girlfriend.]”
Jack looked at her, pulling her hand.“[She’s injured.]”
The director glanced at Alice’s hand.“[This will heal on its own.]”
Alice blushed.“[His arm is injured; a metal cabinet. He needs a tetanus shot.]” She showed the doctor the wound. The director examined it and gave Jack the shot. He looked at Alice, then Jack.“[Injured saving a damsel in distress? A bit embarrassing.]” This kid, usually so arrogant, was subdued in front of this girl. Rare.
Jack, embarrassed, disinfected Alice’s wound after his shot. It stung.
Alice winced; he raised an eyebrow.“[Painful?]” He was teasing.
The director coughed.“[Go. I’m old; I don’t like this mushy stuff.]”
Jack, taking Alice’s hand, left the hospital.
Alice said, “[You know that doctor?]”
“[Yes.]”
Alice said, “[Jack, are you rich?]”
Jack stopped, looking at her, trying to gauge her thoughts. He failed.
He probed, “[Why?]”
“[This is a private hospital, owned by the Wilson family. The people here are influential. You know the director.]”
Alice found it odd.
Jack coughed.“[I’m a doctor. It’s normal to know colleagues.]”
Alice remembered he was a school doctor.“[Why were you a school doctor?]” The sharp–tongued doctor hadn’t stayed long in her past life.
Jack glanced at the sky.“[Personal matters.]”
