Manley was so frustrated that he almost laughed. He was supposed to be the one in control, not getting pushed around like this. Deciding to turn the tables, he pulled out his phone, sent a group text, and called his crew over.
By the time the cops showed up, the lobby was packed with people live–streaming the whole thing on their phones.
Hey, everyone! Big news today! Stanley Anderson came to buy a house and got totally scammed” one of Stanley’s friends. announced on his live stream.
“Don’t miss this! Check out who’s crazy enough to mess with Stanley. I heard they’ve got connections at Horizon Properties,”
Stanley’s friends loved flaunting their wealth on social media, often live–streaming their luxurious lives and gaining followers.
But most people online felt a bit of resentment toward the rich. So when they saw rich kids complaining, the comments section exploded with cheers.
Is Stanley just throwing his family name around to get his way? Look at that woman. Her knees are scraped and bleeding She looks like she’s the one who got hurt here]
[Yeah. You rich kids show up at a sales office and act like you’re the victims? Give me a break. |
[Come on, you rich heirs. Can’t you act like normal people for once? You flaunt your wealth and act like you’re better than everyone else. Now you’re picking on regular folks? Get some class!]
Stanley knew they had a bad rap with the public. But today, he’d gone live because he didn’t want Horizon Properties to scar them. So when the police showed up, he blurted out. “We need to see the security footage.”
Bennett looked at Stanley and Quinlyn, shaking his head. He couldn’t believe he was running into them again. It felt like he couldn’t escape them lately.
“Mr. Anderson, I hear you, but we’re really backed up right now. We’ve got more pressing stuff to deal with,” Bennett said, rubbing his temples
He looked like he hadn’t slept in days, his lips cracked from stress. He’d been chasing a drug case with zero leads, and now a mall robbery was just the cherry on top. He was about ready to lose it.
Stanley was clearly ticked off by Bennett’s dismissive attitude. He grabbed Quinlyn by the shirt and hoisted her up. “You think she’s just some punk kid?” he snapped.
Quinlyn looked up at Hennett with her big, innocent eyes, and for a second, she looked even more harmless like that.
Bennett glanced at her and shook his head. “No way,” he said. A kid who can take down a mall robber single–handed? That’s beyond impressive. Most adults couldn’t pull that off, he thought to himself
“Are you in on this with them?” Yvonne shouted across the room, throwing Bennett a serious accusation
Stanley spun around to glare at her, but she just sneered back, all high and mighty.
She knew he was using live streaming to sway public opinion, and she didn’t mind throwing some nonsense out there to stir things up. Trying to go against me? You’re still too green, she thought.
Just as Stanley was about to lose it, Joseph–who was usually calm and collected–lunged forward, grabbing Yvonne’s wrist and dragging her out.
“Ah! Let go. You’re crazy” she screamed. Her foot was already injured, and every movement made her wince in pain. Fueled by anger, she lost her cool and threw her bag at Joseph.

Hey, hey, it it on Bone stepped in trying to break it up. But before he could even get close, a small figure darted out
“Ah, you finde brat, get off met Yvonne reamed acquinlyn bir down on her wrist, making her thrash around in pain.
Quinlyn slipped to the side and yanked open the zipper of Yvonne’s log The contents went flying all over the floor.
Bennett’s eyes shot to the mess, his face going cold “Nobody move he shouted.
The room fell completely silent as Hennen pulled his gun Stanley’s friends stood there, mouths agape, whispering. It’s just a lule scuffle. No need to faxing a gun into this, right?”
Hut then they saw Hennett push through the crowd, packing up a syringe and a piece of foil from the ground.
After a quick sniff, he ained his gun at Yvonne. “Ma’am, you’re under arrest for drug possession. You’re coming with us to the station for questioning
When the bag split open and a bit of white powder spilled out, everyone finally realized what was going on.
Yvonne, realizing she was busted, started to panic and tried to push past Bennett to make a run for it.
“Shut the door! Don’t let her get away!” Joseph shouted, his voice loud and clear over the noise.
The security guard at the door snapped out of his daze and slammed the glass door shut just as Yvonne reached for it.
“Open this door! Open it or I’ll kill you all!” she screamed, pounding on the door and giving the guard a look that was pure сталу.
The guard was shaking, but Bennett got there just in time. He grabbed Yvonne and cuffed her. “She’s probably hopped up on something; she’s not thinking straight, Bennett said, pushing her down onto the couch.
She kept struggling, but Bennett stayed cool. “There’s a new drug going around that makes people super aggressive and out of it. Keep your eyes peeled, everyone,” he explained to the crowd.
Everyone in the room finally clicked why she’d been so fearless–why she’d dared to go up against Joseph and Stanley. Bennett’s words had made it clear.
Joseph turned to the manager standing nearby and pointed “Mr. Youngblood, this guy’s probably in on it too. You should bring him in for questioning.”
Carl, who’d been backing Yvonne, looked thrown for a second but quickly tried to pull himself together. “Mr. Wilson, you’re just holding a grudge because I didn’t help you earlier. You can’t just accuse me without proof”
Before he could finish, Bennett stepped over, his face dead serious. “This new drug’s been showing up in upscale neighborhoods, and we’ve suspected someone on the inside was feeding client lists to criminals.
“If it’s the sales manager at a real estate office, they’d have the perfect setup. So you’re coming with me.”
Carl’s face went blank as he realized he was busted. He made a break for it, but Bennett was already on him. In seconds, Bennett had him pinned and rolled up his sleeve, exposing needle marks on his arm–just the evidence they needed.
With the situation escalating. Bennett called in his team to lock down the area, ensuring no one could slip away. Using Yvonne as their main lead, they pieced everything together within thirty minutes.
She was the brains of the operation, and Carl was her right–hand man, funneling clients into their scheme. They had a network spread across the city, with Horizon Properties lined up as their next big score.
As the team led Yvonne out, they gave Bennett a wink and a thumbs–up. “Great job, Captain. You took down the boss and wrapped up the whole case.”
