Chapter 4
The nurse looked panicked.
1 helplessly said, “Grandpa carried away the baby.”
Elliott was about to say something more when his phone rang.
The moment he picked up, his face twisted with fury.
Without warning, he slapped me across the face.
“Daniella! What did you do to Joanna?! If anything happens to her, I swear you will regret it!”
Already weak from childbirth, I stumbled back, crashing into the hospital bed’s railing.
The nurse quickly rushed over to support me.
“Mr. Stone, your wife just gave birth! If you keep this up, you’ll kill her!”
But Elliott didn’t care. He acted as if he hadn’t heard.
Elliott didn’t even seem to hear her.
With concern for Joanna and without sparing me another glance, he rushed out.
The nurse looked at me with a heartbroken face.
But on my pale face, there was no emotion at all.
It was as if all the love, hate, and everything in between had been completely drained over the course of
these ten years.
After the checkup, the doctor advised me to rest.
It was then that I finally realized the reason why Elliott’s had lost his temper.
The child had died, and Elliott’s grandfather, overwhelmed with grief, had used his influence to blacklist
Joanna from the entire industry.
Joanna, mistakenly thought it was I had orchestrated it. She had run to Elliott, crying and the situation and added more fuel to the fire to complain to him.
As if that wasn’t enough,

Chapter 4
Elliott revoked my shareholder status in the Stone Group and replaced me with Joanna.
To please her, he even bought a whole set of twenty stars, all named after her.
In an interview, Joanna proudly flaunted the diamond ring on her finger.
“I don’t consider myself a mistress,” she said. “If a woman can’t keep her husband’s heart, she has no one
to blame but herself.”
“Besides, the current Mrs. Stone married for the Stone family’s money. But me? I only only have a pure
heart for Elliott.”
The Internet erupted into chaos.
A group of mindless fans tagged my account, bombarding me with insults and demanding I step aside for
Joanna.
I stared at my phone, but instead of anger, I felt… irony.
After all these years, Elliott’s tricks for coaxing women hadn’t changed one bit.
He had done the same with me.
When he learned that I grew up poor and had never celebrated my birthday, he surprised me on my 20th birthday with twenty gifts.
From a gold lock when I was one to a villa at twenty.
He claimed it was to make up for the hardships I endured in the past.
I still remember that day. He held my hand under a sky full of stars.
“Daniella, I lost my parents when I was young. From now on, I’ll treat your mother like my own, and we’ll build the happiest family together.”
I melted under his loving gaze.
I was naïve, thinking I had found someone to spend my life with.
But soon, the novelty wore off.
Elliott quickly fell out of love with me.
On one date, he abandoned me on a mountain to deliver flowers to his mistress.
That day, I walked back home alone, covering hundreds of kilometers of mountain roads.

My fext wave bloody and blistered, and my cales still bear scars that will never fade.
Looking back, 1 dould have understood then.
This ex was selfish and fickle he would never settle for anyone.
Our marriage contract? just an excuse for his infidelity.
Thinking of this, I left a comment under Joanna’s latest video.
“Wish you both a lifetime of happiness and an early birth.”
Soon after, Joanna deleted the video,
Elliott’s call came right after.
I didn’t pick up.
Instead, I did what he had always done to me–calmly blocked him.
