Chapter 6
I don’t know how much time had passed, but the sound of Ellina’s and Gesange’s rgung was the up
Opening my eyes, I found myself in a hospital bed one more
When Elliott saw I was awake, he seemed to breathe a sigh of relief
He shot an unhappy glance at his grandfather.
“This is the good wife you picked for me? Not even out of the postpartum period and she’s aleatly off un dates with some young guy?”
Elliott’s grandfather was trembling with anger.
“Dates? Do you even know what Daniella went for yesterday
I cut in before he could continue. “Grandpa.”
“It’s all in the past now.”
Elliott’s grandfather understood my meaning and fell silent, though his expression was full of disappointment as he looked at Elliott.
Elliott however, remained indifferent. He shrugged.
“Now that she’s awake, I’m done here. Joanna’s still waiting for me. I’m leaving
Elliott’s grandfather swung his cane at him. “You bastard“”
“I don’t care where you go today, but tomorrow you must bring Daniella to the old house….”
Before he could finish, Elliott was already out the door.
Elliott’s grandfather sighed deeply, his back even more hunched than before.
He handed me a divorce agreement that was already signed.
“Daniella, failing to raise him properly is my fault.”
“But that child was your flesh and blood. I hope you can send him on his final journey.”
I looked at the elderly man with his hair all white. In the end, I couldn’t bring myself to refuse.
Chapter 6
The next morning, I dressed in black and went to the Stone family’s old house.
This child was the one I had risked my life to give birth to.
It’s a pity that I didn’t even have time to hold him for a while and then I was already separated forever.
I wiped away the tear slipping down my cheek.
Perhaps it was for the best.
At least this way, I wouldn’t have anything left to hold me back from leaving.
I had given everything I had to this marriage.
Leaving now, I felt only exhaustion–no regrets.
I waited until the child was buried, but Elliott never showed up.
Instead, I saw photos of him and Joanna trying on wedding dresses trending on social media.
Joanna smugly sent me a message.
“So what if you had his child? In the end, Elliott still chose me.”
“By the
way, did you think Elliott was the one taking care of you while you were unconscious? Actually, he was always with me. We were in the bed next to yours, unlocking many new sex positions.”
The video she sent painted a stark contrast of my deathly pale face against her rosy, satisfied glow.
I didn’t reply, quietly forwarding all the messages and videos to Elliott’s grandfather.
Then, I took off my wedding ring.
Holding my mother’s ashes, I whispered, “Mom, we’re going home.”
It wasn’t until nightfall that Elliott, reeking of alcohol, returned to the Stone family’s old house.
The moment he opened the door, he was startled by the sight of countless wreaths.
“Who died? Could it be Daniella’s mom?”
He was shaken, his face filled with panic.
“Why didn’t anyone tell me about such a big thing sooner? Where’s Daniella? She must be so upset, I’ll go

be with her.”
Elliott’s grandfather had finally had enough, slammed the divorce papers in Elliott’s face.
“Daniella has already left with her mother’s ashes.”
“Today is your son’s seventh–day memorial!”
