My Heart
Chapter 20
Samuel rolled out laughing when Marcus told him what happened in HK. It was simply unbelievable but bis friend was not a liar. “Now, you have become a jester,” he remarked.
“I am telling the truth, Sam!” Marcus insisted, but how could Samuel believe that a woman was able to
uldue his strength?
“No, you are just kidding and trying to be funny, Marcus!”
“Why should I make fun of myself, Sam?” Marcus asked his friend who couldn’t stop laughing at his
misfortune in HIK
“Common Marcus, why would you make it a big deal? You didn’t do anything wrong to your client. It was the opposite!” Samuel convinced his friend not to get too worked about the incident. “For me, you are very lucky, my friend. I saw her file and she was beautiful!” Then, he laughed, while Marcus scowled at
him.
“She could become pregnant!” he yelled.
When it happened, he was not able to wear any protection and the woman didn’t allow him to withdraw himself before spilling his seed inside her womb. Suddenly, Samuel shut his mouth because he understood everything, Marcus disliked the idea that he could impregnate anyone. After he lost his baby girl, he vowed not to get anyone pregnant.
“Maybe. But the chance is still fifty–fifty. What if she wasn’t fertile that time, buddy?”
Marcus blinked his eyes several times because Samuel was right. There was a chance that Daniella wasn’t
fertile at that time, so the only way to make sure about it was to visit the woman at her place.
“I think I have to see her, Sam,” Marcus decided.
“When?” Samuel asked.
“A week from now, maybe,” Marcus replied, because he just arrived and there was work to be done such as liquidating his expenses and making a report and submitting it to Ortega.
“Alright, then. Approved,” Samuel said.
However, his planned visit to Daniella didn’t happen in a week. Something came up at the farm and Samuel needed his help.

Chapter 20
Daniella was not overjoyed with her pregnancy. She had not tried the pregnancy test yet but she knew her body and the signs were already there. Her nose had become sensitive to smells and in the morning she felt the urge to throw up.
Her appetite had changed too and she no longer wanted to eat her favorites. Lately, she favored any food that has no oil like vegetable soup with more leafy greens. She hated the smell of meat, fish, and perfumes.
What’s alarming was, she loved to see Paloma’s face every day. Could people change drastically? A few weeks ago, they were like a mouse and a cat. In fact, she stole one of Paloma’s picture frames and brought
it to her room.
If she had been aware that being pregnant was not easy, she shouldn’t have tried to find a way to keep
what was hers and just let Paloma win. She was impulsive and she just got what she deserved. She was
lost in her thoughts that Patty’s voice startled her.
“W–what?” she snapped at Patty.
“Someone was looking for you but your mother won’t let him in. She said that his identity must be
confirmed by you,” Patty answered.
“What was his name?” She didn’t expect anyone to visit her.
“Your mother told me to hurry up so I forgot to take his name,” she answered nervously. Daniella’s
expression told her that she wasn’t pleased with her intrusion. “But he looked like a foreigner, his eyes
were blue and he was too tall.” Patty continued.
When Patty mentioned his blue eyes, there was the only person who came into her mind. But no, it couldn’t be him. Maybe, a tourist who got lost?
“Thank you, Patty.” She dismissed Patty and checked her appearance in the mirror.
It was humid outside so she decided to wear a cotton and floral summer dress. Daniella tied her long hair into a ponytail, applied a little powder on her face, and of course a lip tint to hide her paleness. Paloma was talking to the man when she arrived.
“Who’s looking for me?” she asked.
“Hello Dani,” Marcus waved his hand to greet her, and what happened next was totally unexpected.
Daniella lost consciousness and he needed to carry the woman inside, and the woman who introduced
herself as Paloma followed them.
She could be acting again, Marcus thought. But Paloma panicked and was quick to order whom she called Patty to call for a doctor.

Chapter 20
“There’s no need for a doctor,” he interrupted Paloma and stopped Patty from leaving
“Who are you to say that?” Paloma snapped at Marcus for interfering in their family affair
“I go by the name of Marcus Madrigal, Ma’am and I’m afraid that I got your daughter pregnant he said confidently.
“Who’s pregnant? Daniella?” Paloma laughed out loudly at the funniest joke that she ever heard in her entire life. “You must be kidding,” she said.
“Let’s wait and ask her then if I was joking,” Marcus challenged Paloma who refused to believe that Daniella was pregnant.
“But it’s impossible! Who would dare to do that to her? She has had no boyfriend since birth” Paloma insisted that it was impossible that Daniella was pregnant.
When he noticed that Dani had regained consciousness and stirred, he immediately went to her and asked. “Are you all right, Dani?”
Daniella didn’t answer and feigned weakness, but Paloma was quick to follow up on the man’s question
“Ella, what is he talking about that you’re pregnant?” Paloma asked and waited for Daniella’s answer
Daniella shut her eyes and refused to talk about it but her stepmother didn’t stop asking. So what if am?” She responded with a question that made Paloma’s eyes widen in disbelief.
“If you are, then you have no choice but to marry the bastard who impregnated you.” Paloma declared and glared at Marcus Madrigal.
Marcus didn’t back down from Paloma’s glare but he was surprised to hear Daniella laughing. “Is there something funny?” he inquired.
“Paloma is being funny, don’t you agree? Getting married because I’m pregnant? Ha, unbelievable?” She reasoned out with Paloma but the older woman was furious and slapped the table.
“Right. Marriage is not the only solution as many people believe. Why not abort her pregnancy? Marmus suggested and he almost became deaf when both women cursed at him.
