Sparkling Girl
Chapter 12 Attending the Meeting Alone
Luna wasn’t fazed by Timothy’s icy glare and said, “Dad, Zoey just messed up. If she says sorry, it’ll be fine. Hitting her is too much; she can’t handle it.”
“Luna, stay out of this,” Even though Timothy, was mad, he was still after with Luna.
Hazel chimed in, “This kid’s already gone off track. We can’t just let slide. Lana, I know you’re kind–hearted, but don’t get
involved.”
Zocy watched her family with a cold stare. “Who said I stole it?”
Timothy was livid. “Still denying it? If you didn’t steal it, where’d you get it? Our family doesn’t have an invitation!”
Zoey quickly caught on. “So, what’s the plan with this invitation?”
Tell me who you took it from. We can’t just take someone else’s stur. We’ll pay for it, but you have to face the consequences!”
Zoey touched her chin. “I get it. I take the blame and get beaten, while you
all get the perks.”
Timothy’s face turned red with anger. The logic was spot on, but being called out made him feel humiliated. “You ungrateful girl!” He raised his hand to slap Zoey. Only by silencing her could he avoid being driven mad.
Zoey raised her hand, gripping the ruler tightly. Timothy couldn’t pull it away no matter how hard he tried. They were at a standstill.
Luna gasped, “Zoey, are you really going to hit your own father?”
Hazel spat, “Ungrateful girl, how dare you?”
Zoey glanced at them, then used a bit of force. Timothy’s hand was empty, and the ruler fell into Zoey’s grip.
Zoey examined the dark ruler, likely stained with blood from countless punishments. Right or wrong no longer mattered.
She gripped it with both hands and snapped it in half with a crisp sound.
Zoey tossed it aside. “This thing has no place here.”
In this day and age, who still used corporal punishment on their kids? That ended today.
She added, “Don’t let me see this thing again. I’ll break it every time.
Lana was s
shocked but still pretended to advise, actually stirring the pot. “Dad, Mom, don’t be mad. Zory’s just blunt. Zoey, apologize to Mom and Dad. Don’t you feel bad seeing them so upset?”
Zoey didn’t bud
budge.
Timothy and Hazel were so angry they were about to faint, but no e dared to approach, fearing Zoey might hit them too. They could only point and curse, repeating the same lines. “Ungrateful girl You beast, how dare you lay hands on your parents? Aren’t you afraid of God’s punishment?
Zoey’s expression didn’t change as she watched Luna act, coaxing the two to sit down and gently comforting them. And the invitation was still in Luna’s hand.
Zoey snatched it away. “Do you really want this?”

Luna was startled but didn Tire to act rashly. “Zory, Mom and Dad so want to go to the event. Why don’t you give it to them?”
“Want it?‘ Zoey asked.
Timothy couldn’t let go of his pride, his face stiff, but his eyes were glued to the invitation.
Zoey smiled faintly, her usually cold demeanor suddenly showing a hile, stunning everyone.
Timothy’s heart filled with hope, and he said generously, “Leave the vitation, and 1l forgive you. You just need to kneel outside for one night.”
Kneel for one night? Zoey would never let herself suffer. She sneered and
the invitation in half
Timothy and Hazel’s eyes widened in shock, while Lana, heartbroken, tried to place the torn invitation back together.
The first rule for getting into the venue with an invitation was that had to be intact and new.
Zoey found their distress amusing. They cherished a mere template, unaware the stamped invitation had already gone to Henry.
As she headed upstairs, she shot Luna a fierce look. “Go through my stuff again, and I’ll toss you out the second–floor window
Luna, remembering the broken ruler, was terrified and nodded stiffly. She only dared to comfort her parents in a low volke after Zoey left. “Mom, Dad, don’t worry. I’ll call Brian. His aunt works at the institute. If I beg him, he can definitely get us an invitation.”

“Luna, you’re such a good child.” Hazel cursed Zoey again, regretting ever giving birth to her. If she had known, she would have strangled her at birth!
The next day, Zoey walked into the classroom and found Emma with red eyes, like she’d been crying. “What happened? Did someone bully you?”
Emma shook her head, unwilling to speak. But Zoey could see her evasion a mile away. During break time, she pulled Emma to the bathrooms and lifted her shirt. She saw a bruise on Emma’s stomach, like someone had kicked her. Zoey’s anger flared, “Vivienne?”
Emma hurriedly pulled down her shirt and whispered, “She has a birthday coming up and wanted me to invite you to her party. I didn’t want to. I knew they had bad intentions…”
*so, they
They hit you,” Zoey added.
Emma wiped her tears and forced a smile, “It’s okay. Once this is over, they won’t bother us anymore.”
Zoey didn’t think so. Some people just take advantage. The more they’re feared, the more they push.
Since the teachers and school’s warnings couldn’t make them behave, she would handle it herself!
On the day of the birthday party, Zoey brought Emma to the club and entered the luxurious private room where Vivienne and Robert were already there. A group of people surrounded them, congratulating and toasting.
Amid the noise, Zoey pushed the door open and walked in. She stood at the door, backlit, looking like a goddess, stunning everyone In the room.
די
Robert nudged Vivienne, who nearly hit the coffee table while handing a glass of wine to Zoey, “I invited you today to cause trouble, but Robert told me not to mess around. 11 toast you, and we can call it even, okay?”
The wine smelled fragrant, but there was a strange scent mixed in. Zoey was very familiar with this smell. She slowly took the glass, and everyone held their breath.

Robert was so excited he almost stood up. He had gone to great lens to get this drug, extremely potent. Even the most chaste woman would turn into a wanton after drinking it.
Zoey’s eyes flashed with mockery. She was well–versed in pharmacology and recognized the drug’s maker, her master’s nemesis, a notorious poison expert. The concoction was both toxic and insidious.
She pretended to bring the glass to her lips, making everyone’s heart race, then grabbed Vivienne’s head, “This stuff is great, you should drink it.”
Easily overpowering Vivienne’s resistance, she forced the wine down her throati
Vivienne fell, desperately trying to vomit, but the drug dissolved instantly and spread quickly. Vomiting wouldn’t help.
Robert’s eyes flashed with malice, and he shouted, “Everyone, get in here!”
The e door opened, and a group of burly professional thugs rushed in,
