Hailey paused as she saw the friend request and unread message. She thought, ‘I think I know why Owen’s upset.
“Did you look at my phone?” she asked, glancing at Owen.
She caught Owen quickly averting his gaze, then trying to compose himself as he shook his head. “No.”
Hailey was pretty sure now.
She waved the phone in front of him. “You saw this message, didn’t you?”
Owen remained silent.
“Owen, why are you so insecure?” she asked with a playful tilt of her head, her eyes sparkling. “You’re the President of Calhoun Group. How could a message like this make you doubt yourself? If I choose to be with you, it’s because you’re special to me. Do you think I’d be swayed by just anyone confessing to me? I’m not that easily moved.”
He glanced at Hailey, his expression shifting as if he wanted to ask her something. But just then, a car horn broke the
moment.
The light had turned green.
Owen pushed the thought aside and focused on driving. He couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of relief.
He had always believed that as long as he made the effort and she accepted it, everything would be fine. After all, he was the one who made the first move, so Hailey didn’t need to give anything back. All that mattered to him was knowing she was his.
Owen thought, ‘But seeing someone else approach her, boldly saying they’re going to take her from me… I’m starting to panic. I’m not sure anymore. Hailey’s never said she loves me. Our relationship started because of my actions, not her feelings.
‘Now there’s another guy, someone her age–what if she suddenly wakes up? What if she gets attracted to him? What if…’
But the doubts that had been gnawing at him slowly faded away with Hailey’s words.
Owen drove faster, the tension easing in his chest until they arrived at the villa.
“Wasn’t I supposed to be going home? Why are we at your villa?” Hailey asked, turning around, confused, as the car came to a
stop.
Owen drove into the garage without saying a word and opened her door.
Hailey, still puzzled, stepped out of the car.
Without saying a word, Owen took her hand and started walking quickly.
Hailey struggled to keep up, trying to jog beside him.
Noticing she was falling behind, Owen stopped, bent down, and swept her up in his arms.
Hailey gasped in surprise, instinctively grabbing his shirt. Her face flushed. “What are you doing?”
Owen said nothing, moving swiftly out of the garage and heading toward the villa.
As soon as they stepped inside, he pushed her onto the couch, cutting off her breath with a deep kiss.
“Mm…”

The kiss was fierce and overwhelming, completely taking Hailey’s breath with it. Owen’s lips ravaged hers, his hands slipping under the hem of her shirt, making her body go limp with desire.
Just the sight of his stunning face made her legs weak, and now, with him holding her in his arms, kissing her so urgently, she could hardly stand it. His chiseled jaw, the flush in his eyes, and the way his dark gaze reflected her own–everything about him made her heart race, her body weak with longing.
But right now, he was losing control of her.
Hailey’s heart suddenly began to race in that moment. She thought, ‘I want to give myself to him completely.‘
Her body leaned into him, her hands wrapping around his neck as she pulled herself closer, her voice barely a whisper against his ear. “I can stay here with you tonight.”
For a moment, he froze, his gaze locking with hers as he pulled back slightly to look at her face.
After saying those words, Hailey felt a wave of shyness wash over her, but she gathered her courage and held his gaze, unflinching.
Their bodies were pressed together, both of their hearts beating wildly for each other.
Hailey wasn’t sure how they ended up on the bed. By the time her mind, clouded and scattered, regained even the slightest bit of clarity, she found herself lying there.
The window was still open, and the cold night air crept in, making Hailey shiver uncontrollably. But soon, the warmth of his chest pressed down on her, enveloping her completely.
Hailey’s hands and feet trembled with nerves, her heart racing so fast it felt like it might burst from her chest.
Thankfully, the lights were off. If Owen saw how red her face was, he’d probably tease her about it.
Hailey didn’t need to look to know how flushed she was–her skin was burning hot, and it wasn’t just from the embarrassment.
The chill she’d felt earlier was gone, replaced by the heat of the moment.
Her throat was dry as his soft kiss brushed against her. She felt herself slipping, weightless, like drifting on the surface of the water, with only him–his body pressing against hers–keeping her grounded.
“Hailey…” His warm breath caressed her ear, his voice deep and captivating, like the rich, resonant notes of a cello, drawing her in.
He repeated her name endlessly as if it were a divine call meant only for her.
Hailey, ever obedient, responded each time he called.
Then, suddenly, his movements paused.
The sound of his low, husky laugh echoed in her ear, soft and gentle.
“What’s wrong?” Her gaze was clouded with desire, her cheeks flushed with a soft pink, her face glowing with a beauty that made the heart flutter.
With his shirt off, he pulled her into his arms, stopping all teasing touches. His voice dropped low as he whispered in her ear, “Hailey, your period’s here.”
“My… what?” Hailey asked, still confused.
Just as the words left her mouth, she suddenly felt warmth between her legs. Her face turned bright red.

Hailey thought, Oh no, my… period… it’s here!
“…I need to take care of something, she stammered, quickly scrambling out of bed, wrapping herself in clothes, and rushing to the bathroom.
Owen was on the bed, lounging casually, and couldn’t help but chuckle at the situation.
After a while, Owen got dressed and walked to the bathroom door, knocking softly. “Hailey, do you have any sanitary products in your bag?”
“No, Hailey replied, a bit embarrassed.
“Alright, I’ll go to the store and grab what you need,” Owen said. “Take a warm shower, get batk in bed, and let me know if you’re not feeling well.”
“Okay”
With that, Owen stepped out of the room.
Hailey stood in the bathroom, frustrated, as she ran a hand through her hair. She glanced at the ruined panties and let out a deep sigh.
It was all Owen’s fault. His charm had completely clouded her judgment. Otherwise, how could she have said something so ridiculous to him?
And now, not only had she failed to get what she wanted, but she was also stuck in this incredibly awkward situation.
Hailey felt like she was going to die of embarrassment.
By the time she finished her shower, Owen had returned.
He wasn’t familiar with these things, so he had the sales clerk help him. The promoter was especially eager, picking out a variety of options–day pads, night pads, extra–long ones, cotton, mesh–and even added a few packs of heating pads for
cramps.
As he passed through the clothing section, Owen, ever thoughtful, picked out a few pairs of women’s underwear.
The store was nearly empty, and the sales clerk, noticing how handsome he was and how much he was buying, threw in an extra pink heating pad as a bonus.
