Chapter 132
Carlos‘ POV:
I hovered above the island in my helicopter, a battle group of helicopters following closely behind. We were ready for anything. I couldn’t let them take Doris any longer. I couldn’t let her stay trapped on this island. Not when I could do something about it.
She has been separated from Cyrus for far too long. Cyrus has become a nightmare for watching Doris being taken away by the bad guys, something that I know no one has way of healing him unless Doris comes back, back to him. And also, back to me.

As we approached the landing site, I could feel my frustration building. I had a mission to complete. I wasn’t going to let Merhold or anyone else stand in my way. I needed to see him. Now.
Merhold had agreed to see me, but he made it clear that I couldn’t bring an escort. That didn’t matter to me. This was between him and me.
When we landed, I stepped out of the helicopter and walked toward the entrance of the building where Merhold awaited. The cold air hit my face, but it did nothing to cool the fire burning inside me. I had a lot to say to him.
Merhold was waiting, as if he had been expecting me all along. His smile was that same cold, polite smile I’d seen too many times. He didn’t seem worried, didn’t seem threatened at all. He acted as if he had everything under control.
“You’ve come,” Merhold said, his tone calm, almost mocking. “I was wondering when you would make your appearance.”
I didn’t waste any time with pleasantries. “You’ve taken her,” I said, my voice low, dangerous. “And you have no right. You’re rude and dangerous, Merhold. You know that?”
Merhold raised an eyebrow, his smile never faltering. “I have every right,” he replied smoothly. “She’s here because of your negligence, Carlos. You didn’t care enough about her. You were too busy with your fiancée to notice.”

His words struck me, but they only made my anger burn hotter. “Don’t talk about Doris like that,” I snapped, stepping closer. “You have no idea what you’ve gotten yourself into.”
“I think I have a very good idea,” Merhold said, his voice turning colder. “But you’re right about one thing. You have been too busy to pay attention to her, too busy chasing after other things.”
“Shut up,” I growled, moving closer. “I’m not here for your games.”
I regret not explaining my relationship with Odette to Doris. But this incident must not be used as a reason for him to imprison and hurt Doris!
Before he could respond, I lunged at him. We crashed to the ground in a tangle of fists and fury. Merhold was strong, but I was faster, more powerful. Years of training had made me a formidable fighter. I slammed my fist into his stomach, knocking the wind out of him.
Normally, I had bodyguards with me, but at this moment, I didn’t need them. My skills were enough to handle this.”
Before he could react, I was on him again. This time, I aimed for his chest, pushing him back. Merhold tried to block, but I was already too close. I twisted his arm and forced him down.
The fight was messy, but I kept control, landing another hard punch to his side. He grunted, but I didn’t let up.
Merhold grunted, trying to push me off, but I was relentless. I wasn’t stopping until I had answers. I needed to know what had happened to Doris.
“Where is she?” I demanded, grabbing him by the collar and lifting him up. “How is she?”
Merhold fought to push me away, but I held him tight. I couldn’t think about anything but Doris. I shook him, my grip firm. “Where is she?” I demanded. “I need to see her. Tell me she’s alright.”
Merhold coughed, wiping blood from his lip. “She’s fine,” he said, his voice strained but
calm. “No one is bullying her here. She’s safe.”

No one here is going to hurt her, make her sad. We’re having quite a good time these days.Doris is like an angel.‘ Merhold flashes a cruel smile as he provocatively asks me, ‘You want to hear the details? How pleasant we are getting along?Doris is already thinking of
memories from our past.‘
I didn’t believe him, but I wasn’t going to waste time arguing. I needed to see her. Now.
“Let me see her,” I said, my grip tightening. “Right now.”
Merhold looked at me, his eyes cold. “You can see her. But she will decide for herself.”
I didn’t like the sound of that. But it didn’t matter. I was going to see her, no matter what it
took.
Merhold stepped aside, allowing me to pass. “Go ahead,” he said, his voice almost too calm.
“But remember, she makes her own choices.”
