Hazel held Leila to the side and whispered to her, “Leila, you are not allowed to call him Daddy anymore.”
Leila blinked her eyes and looked at the pink fox in her arms with some hesitation. She liked it.
She lifted it and said, “The toy…”
Knowing that her daughter liked it, Hazel did not stop her from accepting it.
Hazel kissed her cheek and said, “If you like it, you can keep it. Mommy can buy it from Gabriel.”
Leila’s eyes lit up, and she nodded happily.
She quickly went to the toy room to play with her two brothers who were unwrapping gifts.
“How much did the fox figurine cost? I’ll transfer the money to you.”
