Cat Mendoza:–
“So, you are telling me that you will not be coming back to our apartment with me because you are moving in with Leo?” I
asked confused. Enrique scratched the back of his neck nervously and nodded his head.
“I love him, Cat. I know that he is the one for me.” he tells forward to kiss on his cheek.

“Then I am happy for you. Although I will really miss you in the apartment, as I am used to living with you over there, but I guess. It’s fine. I will get used to it.” I tell him honestly “Now, help me pack my stuff up so I can get out of you two lovebirds nest and hide in my own place and bury myself in designing the costumes for the big movie project.”
I stopped to take a deep breath and went on.
Speaking of project I have been trying to gather up my team since Julian and Marissa has asked me to introduce them with my team and unfortunately I have none, but fortunately I have you and Leo, who are in same field.
And I am sure you guys must know someone who will be loyal and looking for a part time job. Even the fresh college graduates would do. So, have you got some in your connection?” asked with hope. Enrique grinned and pulled me in his
arms.
“I thought you would never ask me to work with you, honey.” he announced excitedly “Have you got any
idea how many fingers were twitching to draw the designs for the movie costumes with you?I have always wanted to work on these type of projects, so did Leo, so we would be happy to help you and yes, we know some college graduates who are looking for part time jobs.”
I smiled, looking at him, then stood up to look at my phone screen that showed around ten missed calls from Alexander fifty messages, that I didn’t bother to read or pick up his calls. I wonder where did he disappeared all of a sudden. No, I don’t want to care about him. I have made a decision and I will talk to him about that once I am ready to meet him.
“I know you miss him, Cat, and you alre terribly missing Laila as you both were two peas in one pod. Both of you combined, designed the best. You both have got similarities and love what you guys do with the costumes and designs.”
“Yes, I do miss her, because always imagined myself working with her, opening our own fashion boutique, imagined both of us ruling the fashion world together, but now I think it will always stay a dream.” I replied with a shrug of my shoulder.
“And, as for Alexander. I don’t miss him. I know I overreacted by running away from him like that and crying but it was because I felt used. Just that night he fucked me good, and then the next day he was having or maybe about to fuck his ex- wife who is nothing but a gold digging, self centered bitch.”
Enrique raised his eye brows and offered me a comforting look as he and touched my knee and gave it a squeeze with a small smile.
“Darling, you are pregnant with Alexander’s baby. Of course, you have all the reasons to be hurt and confused. But come on, in the real world–do you really believe he’d risk that for her? As from what you were saying, the man is into you, who knows maybe obsessed with you?”

Enrique rolled his eyes and let out a heavy groan. “Cat, for somebody who is so intelligent and also so artistic sometimes you can be so non–sensitive to certain things. Love takes senses away from those giving it and those taking it – that is why it is called stupid love. I’m not saying that you should be forgiving him without an explanation but maybe allow him to beg for

I found myself actually chuckling, taking the tea. “No plotting, just venting. So, you can forget about a redemption arc. Currently, I have him on my do–not–call list. Means he is on my long black–list that keeps on growing after Jeircho and
Laila.”
Leo only smiled and sat sideways in the armchair, facing us. “Whether this man is on the so–called Blacklist or not, he’s not easily discouraged. Fifty messages? That’s dedication, babe.”
“I haven’t even read them,” I replied blushing and taking a sip of the hot tea. “I don’t want to know what his excuse is for being such a manwhore.”
Enrique tilted his head back and looked at me with a contemplative look on his face.
“What if it’s not an excuse? What if there is more which you have not seen, heard or even aware of? Have you considered that?”
“I don’t know,” I said softly. “I just… I don’t want to be that woman who let’s things go easily so that they can be done to her again. The one who always finds herself on the receiving end because she has chosen to remain foolish.”
Leo put his cup of tea down onto the table and now looked fairly serious.
“And you shouldn’t be. But there is a difference between being careful and being closed off from everyone. Perhaps you should give him a chance – for the baby – to listen to all he has to say. After all, you can’t always avoid him since he is going to be in your life forever because of the baby you created with him.”
Enrique nodded in agreement. “At the very least, there will be closure. And if he screws up again, we’ll be right here waiting to slash his tires and get drunk on wine and ice cream or maybe eat local street foods too.”
I laughed, shaking my head. “You two are ridiculous.”
“Oh, ridiculously fabulous,” Enrique panther like smile corrected her.
Well
The pain had seemed to have subsided a little but there in my chest I felt a small ray of light. Perhaps, listening to Alexander would not be such a bad idea. But I’d do it on my terms–when I was ready for it. Or that’s what I thought until we heard the loud banging on the front door of Leo’s apartment and heard Alexander’s furious shouts calling my name from the other side of the door.
“Cat, I know you are in there so you better open the door or I am going to break it. The choice is yours. Are you opening it or not because we need to talk!”
“Oh my God, that sexy brood is here?!” Leo exclaims “Damn, this is going to be interesting.”
