Chapter 67 Let Me Go
David’s brow furrowed slightly.
He neither pushed her away nor pulled back his finger, letting her bite as she pleased.
He felt the pain, but it meant little to him.
If biting him could help Caroline vent her emotions, he was willing to cooperate.
David remained motionless, which gradually made Caroline loosen her teeth.
A deep mark was clearly visible on his finger.
“Why did you stop biting?” David’s voice was low. “Hmm?”
“Even if I bit your finger off, it wouldn’t solve anything.
Caught up in her emotions, Caroline had bitten David on impulse.
In truth, she hated any physical contact from him, but she lacked the strength to resist.
“I just wanted to wipe your tears,” David said calmly.
No woman had ever received such treatment from him. She was the first.
“No need, I can do it myself.” Caroline raised her hand and roughly wiped her face.
She knew how disheveled and ugly she must look, but it didn’t matter.
David had seen her humiliated countless times before.
“This is the first time I’ve seen you cry, and so miserably at that.” David gazed down at her. “I thought you were too stubborn to ever shed a tear.”
Caroline closed her eyes, too exhausted to respond.
At the hospital, after the doctor examined and treated her wounds, confirming she was fine, David brought her back to the Ellison residence.
He personally placed her on the master bedroom’s large bed and tucked her in.
“Rest well.”
With a blank expression, he turned and left.
He believed he had been more than considerate to Caroline, but she never appreciated it, always distant
and indifferent.
Does she expect me to comfort her? Ha, not a chance.
Caroline didn’t have enough importance to make David lower himself.
Besides, she was merely a toy in his hand.

When he treated her kindly, she should be grateful. When he wanted to torment her, she had no choice. but to endure it!
As David reached the door, Caroline’s faint voice drifted from behind. “Let me go, David.”
“Never!”
The door slammed shut with a bang, rattling the windows.
Caroline slowly opened her eyes, haunted by memories of the kidnapping.
Even thinking about it now sent shivers down her spine.
She had almost lost her dignity again, nearly violated.
Her body had never been under her own control.
She felt filthy, so tainted that even she despised herself. Someone like her didn’t deserve love.
If she ever met someone she liked, she would be too ashamed to get close.
Caroline got out of bed and walked to the bathroom.
Standing upright, she turned on the faucet and let the water flow down, scrubbing her skin forcefully. She rubbed until it was red and bruised, nearly raw, before stopping.
But, it wasn’t enough for her. She needed to wash more!
The sound of running water echoed continuously.
Downstairs in the living room, David strode to the main seat on the sofa and sat down. “Where are the two kidnappers?”
“Mr. Ellison, they’ve been… taken care of,” the bodyguard replied, making a throat–slashing gesture.
“Did they reveal who instructed them?”
“Mr. Ellison, they were barely breathing, unable to speak clearly. I couldn’t get anything from them, so I just finished them off.”
A dark fury clouded David’s expression.
Even if he didn’t care for Caroline, he would never tolerate anyone treating her that way.
They are courting death!
“Go.” David leaned back. “Bring Elizabeth here.”
