Chapter 12
Hilda thought for while before speaking. “My relationship with the Adams family is very complicated. You already know it. I do not have access to any of my family’s share nor a place in the family business. You are aware of that right? And I’m already gonna be given off on a marriage alliance with another family so once they find out…”
Nathan nodded. “Only a worthless man would depend on his woman like this for family alliance. And you don’t have to worry about these. I will take care of t once we get married. Don’t you trust me?”
Hilda laughed. “Okay.”
Nathan raised his tone slightly and asked in confusion “I was thinking you would be talking more about matters relating to your personal benefits?”
“Benefits?” Hilda felt uncomfortable for some reasons. She didn’t want their marriage to involve such things. “There is no need to talk about those. I trust you.”
Nathan curled his lips. “Since you have no more questions, when do you want to get married?”
Hilda felt complicated. She had always pictured her wedding with Daniel as it was suppose to be the happiest day of her life. They were in love with each other that she was sure they were going to have an unforgettable wedding. But in the end, she was left behind with only painful memories of their life time that would last forever.
Her hopes of having a beautiful and unforgettable wedding was crushed by Daniel and her sister and now she was going to get married to Nathan. She barely had any idea who he was as they had only met up twice all being a bad timing. They barely understood each other let alone to love each other. She isn’t getting married with love so why should she delay?
“The sooner, the better!”
Since she wasn’t getting married for love, she might as well make it quick. She wanted to at least have a say in her marriage. Even if it doesn’t go well, she would not have any regrets. If I don’t marry him I won’t be able to run away from my so called parents scheme.
Nathan eyes shone with a slight chill. “Okay. Then today it is!”
“Today?” Hilda was dumbstruck. “But… I don’t have my house hold register. It is still with my parents so unless I go to the Villa.”
Even though she wanted to get married as soon as possible, she didn’t expert it to be this fast. “Can’t it wait for a few days?”
Hilda knew it would be impossible to get her hands on her house hold register today. She would need her mother and father’s approval which she knew she wasn’t going to get easily. She was in a bind.
“It’s will be impossible for me to get a hold of my house hold register from my family’s villa today.”
“You don’t have to worry about that. Just leave that to me.” Nathan said.
Hilda looked at him as she was suspicious as to what he meant by that but Nathan merely glanced at her. “Let’s eat the food whiles it is still hot lest it turns cold”

Chapter 12
After the two finished their breakfast, Nathan cleaned up while Hilda sat in the living room watching TV. It was like she was already familiar with the place.
Nathan called Stanley and had him alert those at the Civil Affairs Bureau that we was coming over. Entering the hall, he noticed Hilda sitting on the couch. He looked at her figure as the sun rays seeped in through the window and shone onto her body, giving her a relaxed and cozy vibe.
All these years, he had been the only person living in his residence. His life has always been very peaceful but with one more person around, it actually didn’t seem really bad.
Hilda seemed like she was enjoying the show as she was laughing uncontrollably. Her sweet voice sounded particularly soothing in the cars as it rang in the residence.
He wasn’t uncomfortable with Hilda’s arrival. Maybe it would be nice for him to have her by his side in the future however…..
Nathan narrowed his eyes slightly and his smiling eyes turned cold. After staring at her for a while he spoke up. “Let us head for the Civil Affairs Bureau.”
Hilda stopped watching the TV as she turned around to look at Nathan. She looked at herself before her face reddened. She was wearing Nathan’s shirt. Although the shirt was large, it was a provocative sight.
“Where are my clothes?” She asked
“Let’s go upstairs first.”
“Okay.” Hilda followed behind him as he headed upstairs.
In the bedroom, Nathan disappeared as soon as he entered whereas Hilda glanced around to search for her phone. Since it was in the Master’s bedroom, she retrieved it and realized it was off.
Hilda turned it on and was greeted by numerous missed calls. Most of them where from Daniel while the rest was from her two bestfriends.
She pursed her lips and called Sonnia first. 1
“Hey Sonnia, it’s me Hilda.” Hilda said. “My phone ran out of battery last night. Why did you call me?”
“Where are you?” Sonnia has been worried ever since she saw the news. “When did you come back Hilda? When I saw the news I was really shocked. How could Daniel act that way? Hilda tell me are you alright?”
Hilda bit her lips. “Sonnia, Don’t worry about me. I’m fine. Yes I was in a foul mood when I knew they were engaged but now I’m okay you don’t have to worry.”
As far as she knew, Sonnia never really liked Carmen. She knew Sonnia was going to kick up a fuss with Carmen and she didn’t want that to happen.
“Really?” Sonnia found it hard to believe Hilda but since she insisted, she also said nothing. “Girl, you must tell me if something happens with Carmen. I will get even with her for you.”
“I know Sonnia. Don’t worry. I am not that easy to be bullied.” Hanging up Hilda called Naima. As soon as the call was connected Naima’s anxious voice was heard. “Hilda, what happened? How come Carmen is now engaged to Daniel? How are you coping after this news? How about you come join me here?”

Laughing, Hilda replied “Naima, don’t worry. I’m fine. I’m not upset honestly. I guess Daniel and I weren’t meant to be.”
“Oh babe, fate played such a cruel game on you. How could Daniel be meant for Carmen? Anyways, don’t worry. If you miss me just tell me and I will fly back just for you.”
“Okay.” Hilda was delighted. She didn’t want to travel how as Carmen might think she got everything now. “If I miss you, I would definitely book a flight just to have you come down.”
When Hilda was done with the call, she saw Nathan already beside her with a box in his hand.
With her phone still in her hand, her heart was beating rapidly.
“You clothes are still wet so I went out to buy this for you. Put it on!”
“Thank you.” Hilda took the box and opened it. It was a long but fairylike dress. Taking a second glance she widened her eyes. It was from a famous brand which was known for it exquisite designs in dresses. “What? You don’t like it?” Nathan asked when he noticed she was still holding unto it.
“No, not that. I like it. It is very pretty. But how did you know my size?” She Immediately regretted saying that after she saw Nathan’s gaze that was insinuating something. 1
Her face flushed red. “I will go and change now.” She hurriedly ran to the restroom as she nearly fell in her hastiness.
Nathan shook his head when he saw how clumsy Hilda was. With a hint of smile in his voice, he reminded her to be careful.
