Hilda turned to look up at Rex helplessly. Hopelessness was apparent in her eyes. The moment their gazes met, a knock was heard on the door with Carmen’s voice following suit. “Hilda? Are you still in there? It is almost time for the cake to be cut. Let’s go and join the celebration after all it is grandmother’s big day.”
When no one replied, she continued. “Hilda? You still there?”
Hilda forced herself to lift her head while pinching her thighs with both hands trying to gain some consciousness. Trying her best to not give in to the drugs, she looked at Rex coldly. “You planned all this with my parents? Is there really a need for this?”
Rex squinted his eyes feeling amused by Hilda’s question. Then he raised his eyebrows and responded with a smile. “What do you think?”
“You…” Hilda didn’t know what to say.
“Are you in there Hilda? Are you still not feeling okay? I’ll get someone to come right away. Just open up would you?” Carmen never stopped banging on the door. She sounded really worried but every word she said was like a thorn piercing Hilda’s heart.
Hilda stared at the door with despair written all over her face.
“Hmm, how interesting… Your…” The moment Rex turned, Hilda struck his head with a vase. He glared at Hilda before passing out. “How dare y..”
Having used up all her energy, Hilda collapsed back onto the floor.
In her unconscious state, she could hear Carmen telling people that Hilda wasn’t feeling well so she brought her up here to rest but now that she is coming to get her back to join the party for the cake cutting, the door was locked so they have no other choice but to barge in by breaking it open.
Just as Hilda thought today was the end for her, a dark figure suddenly appeared in front of her. He bent down to check on her as he reveal his handsome face.
Hilda bit down on her lips again as she looked at him. With red droplets forming on her lips, she reached out and tugged onto the man’s trousers‘. “Nathan, please save me!”
Nathan squinted his eyes. As his cold gaze fell on Hilda’s flushed face and her whole body, there was a trace of anger in his dark eyes. Narrowing his gaze, he took off his suit jacket and covered Hilda with it.

Hilda shivered slightly. She instantly smelled a masculine scent. It was a very crisp smell. Hugging her own shoulders and pulling the suit close, Hilda asked with a shiver. “What are we going to do now?”
The banging on the door became increasingly loud and sounded like it was gonna be broken down anytime soon. As it was the second floor of the building, there was no where to hide in there.
Hilda was feeling both hot and cold alternately. The feeling was very intense that is was so unbearable. She could only bite her lips to hold herself from screaming.

whispered. “Don’t be afraid. You have me!”
Hilda felt warmth radiating in her heart as she calmed down a little after hearing Nathan’s voice. She tightly held unto Nathan arm with both her hands as though the man would slip away if she loosened her grip.
In a blink of an eye, Nathan carried Hilda into the bathroom just as the door was forcefully kicked open. Taking the lead was Daniel and Carmen.
“Hilda… Ahh!” Carmen screamed in terror as she quickly grabbed Daniel by the arm. “Daniel, look. There is someone on the floor.” Carmen exclaimed as she searched the room for Hilda.
She personally brought Hilda into the room with the help of the bulky men who was drugged, so there was no way she could have escaped.
Seeing the man on the floor, Daniel swiftly walked over. He was instantly shocked. “Rex Cross?”
“What? It’s Mr. Rex?” Carmen pretended to be surprised. “Isn’t he the young master of the Cross family? Why is he here? And where is Hilda? Daniel, what if Hilda is in trouble? What should we do? Carmen nervously held onto Daniel’s arm. “I personally brought Hilda here when she said she wasn’t feeling that well. What is Mr. Rex doing here?”
“Don’t panic Carmen, go get your parents here now.” Daniel tried to calm her down.
“What happened here?” Mr. Adams and Mrs. Adams rushed in. They were scared out of their wits when they saw Rex on the ground. “What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and send Mr. Rex to the hospital!” Mrs. Adams exclaimed.
Mr. Adams on the other hand was much calmer as he looked around asking, “What is going on here?”
“I don’t know either dad.” Carmen was crying as she held onto Daniels arm. “I brought Hilda here as she wasn’t feeling well so she could rest but now that I came back to get her back to join the party for the cake cutting, the door was locked so we had no other choice but to barge in by breaking the door. In the end after the door was broken, we saw Mr. Rex was on the floor with his forehead drenched in blood.
Carmen was good at pretending. “After we arrived, we still haven’t seen Hilda. Hilda is no where to be found dad. I’m so worried about her as she was weak!
“That little b*tc…” Mr. Adams received a cold glare from Carmen before she could even finish her sentence so she reluctantly changed her tone. “Where else could my daughter have gone? She must be out having some fun!”
Mrs. Adams spoke reluctantly. “Have you checked the entire room? Since Hilda was resting here, she could be in here somewhere. Keep searching!”
Mrs. Adams opened the closet but there was no one in it.
As the others also started searching the room for Hilda
