Chapter 28
Nathan Residence.
The car came to a stop and the body guards carried all the luggage’s inside. Hilda and Nathan followed suit each having a bag in their hands. Although Hilda left most of her stuffs in her apartment, the stuffs she brought over to Nathan’s residence weren’t small either.
The boxes she came along with were placed in the guest room were as the luggage’s were placed in the master’s. bedroom.
“It’s late now but I have something to attend to. I might come back late so you don’t have to wait for me.” Nathan said to Hilda.
“Okay I understand.”
“The bodyguards would be outside so in case you need anything you just have to let them know. If there is nothing else, I would get going now.” With that Nathan turned around and walked out of the bedroom.
Watching him leave, Hilda wanted to say something but she didn’t know how to voice it out. She stood rooted to the spot till she heard the sound of a car revving in the garage before walking to the window. “Thank you.” She whispered to herself.
Since it was already late, Hilda went into the bathroom to take a shower. She wanted to wash off the grime and bad aura from her body.
Before going to bed, she took a quick stroll in the house trying to familiarize herself with everything.
Nathan’s house was a single villa with seven to eight guest rooms and three floors. The first floor is for guest, the second floor was the guest rooms, and the third floor was his personal living area.

As she was on the third floor, she noticed that all the designs where distant yet cold and simple, just like Nathan’s personality. It was monotonous as nothing matched with each other.
Also the furniture were just a few, to the point were one could describe the place as ‘the lesser, the better“.
The design was simple yet unique. The decorations were completely different from Hilda’s house. As her place has
little bit of warmth like flowers which were comforting, Nathan’s house was distant.
One could just guess the family’s atmosphere just by looking at the decorations.
Her house was warm and sometimes lively. After she moved out of the Adams residence, she needed to be strong all by herself and sometimes Daniel also passes by to make sure she wouldn’t feel like she was alone. Therefore, the apartment was decorated to be warm because she didn’t have to feel alone.
As for Nathan’s house, it was simple, cold and distant.
Meanwhile Rex and Mrs. Cross felt like they were sitting on pins and needles after using all their connections and still couldn’t get in touch with Mr. Nathan.
During this period that they were trying to get in touch with Mr. Nathan, Mrs. Cross and her son had their forehead sweating like a running faucet, splashing and flowing endlessly.
Mr. Cross would call them every few minutes, and every time they would be berated fiercely by him which was driving them crazy.
“D*mn it! You b*stard! How dare you go looking for trouble from Mr. Nathan? Who did you think you were?” Mrs. Cross was beyond furious as she spat with rage.

“The company is now in turmoil all because of you. What were you thinking?”
Rex’s face flashed with horror. His dad had made it clear.
If he did not receive Mr. Nathan’s forgiveness, then he would cut ties with him and he would be driven out of the family. He would completely be reduced to nothing but just an abandoned child of a wealthy family.
And it was just not him alone. His mom who was beside him was also terrified that she was on the verge of shedding tears. “Mom, what do we do now? Dad has made it clear already”
Fear was written all over their faces.
Rex had never seen his father acted so crazy through out his entire childhood to adulthood. He had a hunch that his dad would really abandon him and his mom if he was not forgiven by Mr. Nathan.
Mrs. Cross who was standing to the side felt waves of numbness spreading over her scalp after hearing Rex.
And just as she was about to comfort him, she heard her phone ringing.
Ding! Ding!
Her ringing tone sounded out.
D*mn it! Who would be calling me at such a crucial moment? The raging anger in Mrs. Cross was burning hotter and hotter as the phone kept on ringing. She continued to swear as she took out her cellphone from her purse.
She then saw an unknown number. Frowning, she answered the call. But before she could say anything she heard at male deep voice. “Mrs. Cross, Mr. Nathan is willing to let you off if you convince your husband to sell fifty one percent of your company’s shares to him. If not…”
Boom!
Mrs. Cross’s body could not help but tremble violently when she heard what the caller said.
Immediately after, boundless ecstasy instantly rushed into her head. “I will sell the fifty one percent shares to
you…”
Her voice was shaking as if she had found her most precious treasure that she had lost and was looking for. Her excitement beggared description.
At that instant, she held Rex and hugged him. “Mr. Nathan is willing to let us off. All we have to do is sell fifty one percent of our shares to him. Tell your dad that I agree to it and that he should hurry and go sign the papers.”
Damn it. Fifty one percent of our company shares? That is going to make him the major shareholder of the Cross Group. 1
But soon after, he knew it was all his fault.
The Cross group belongs to Mrs. cross as she was the only daughter of her family. Her father died earlier on but before he did, he found her a capable man who was willing to be a live in son in law and take their family name to continue his legacy.
Rex then took out his phone and called his dad telling him about his mother’s decision. As she was too excited, she couldn’t bring herself to talk to her husband after all, she just escaped a nearly death sentence as Mr. Nathan wouldn’t have let them off that easily.
Mr. rex then called Stanley before signing all the necessary document. Reading through the documents, he noticed. that the shares were been bought under the name of Miss Ida Adams which confused him. Why would Mr. Nathan buy the shares for Miss Adams? But yet again he thought, Mr. Nathan wouldn’t be affiliated to a second

After that he signed all the documents and fifty one percent of the company’s shares were now owned by a Miss Hilda Adams who is the new CEO of the Cross Group. With that Stanley walked away with the document before making a call. “Boss, it is done.”
Meanwhile in Nathan’s Residence, Hilda was tossing and turning in bed as she couldn’t sleep. She payed heed to any noise outside to notice Nathan’s as soon as he arrives but looking at the time, she sighed. ‘It is already one am and he is still not back.”
Hmm, I might as well just sleep like that.
