Chapter 45

Hilda who was still in the storage room after a long while started to feel cold.

It was winter. Staying in there without a heater, Hilda could feel the chill seeping into her body and spreading through out her limps and bones slowly.

Hilda then moved her stiff fingers and touched her cold joints that were starting to ache from the cold. The first time she was frozen like this in the Adams residence, she had rheumatism after Mrs. Adams poured cold water in her bed and allowed her to sleep on it till the next day. And how….

Thinking that she might die if she was cold any longer, Hilda’s body trembled. She stood up and started pattering the door along side shouting for help but no one responded.

Hilda shouted for a long time until her throat got burned but no one payed attention to her nor responded to her.

Feeling so chilled, Hilda spoke in a trembling voice. She had lunch before coming over but with all the screaming and patting on the door had drained up all her energy. She felt bad at this instant.

Wave after wave of dizziness hit her but Hilda knew it would be bad if she closed her eyes. She desperately pinched her thighs to keep her self awake.

‘Am I going to die here?‘ She thought.

With unwillingness and anger in her heart, Hilda felt helpless.

There was a moment when she had though of calling Nathan but she remembered her phone was in her bag which was currently in the living room.

How could she call him when her phone was in her bag in the living room. Hilda felt uneasy. As she was thinking about it, she suddenly heard strange sounds coming from outside.

Nathan who was now standing in front of the Adams residence took out his phone and called Hilda but yet again, his call was not answered. His gaze darkened as he looked at the Adams Residence.

He then proceeded to ask the bodyguard what happened since they came. “Has she been out after going in?”

“No sir. But I heard them quarrelling a few hours ago.” He replied truthfully.

Nathan’s face got even more gloomy after hearing this. He took out a cigarette from his pocket but didn’t light it. He twirled it between his fingers for some time before putting it back in the package then proceeded to walk towards the Adams residence.

He rang the bell. After a while the door was opened by Carmen. She who was an award winning model both National and international was stunned when she saw Nathan standing behind their door. She looked at him in awe forgetting to ask him in.

“Who is it?” Mrs. Adams asked behind Carmen before she snapped out of her daze.

“Come in Mr. Nathan.” She asked Nathan in politely before pulling her mom to one side and whispered to her.” Moni, it is Mr. Nathan Clemon. The richest bachelor in Taad city no I mean the whole country.”

Knowing who he was, the Adams family felt flattered and horriedly invited him in. They all thought, why his the richest man here in our humble abode unless he had his eyes on someone. Thinking about this, Carmen blushed as she was the only single female in the house at that moment

“Hilda? She is not here.” Mrs. Adams was shocked when she learned that he was here for Hilda. She thought for a moment and lied without changing her facial expression.

“Yes, Mr. Nathan. My sister already left.” Carmen also chipped in.

A few hours ago, Hilda announced that she would ask Mr. Rex to destroy the Adams family. Although the Adams family was rich they knew it was no march for the Rex family and here Nathan is also looking for Hilda.

If Hilda and Nathan are also close then it was definitely a piece of cake for her to destroy the Adams family. What if Hilda and Nathan are close? And she was keen on destroying the Adams family, wouldn’t she attack the Adams family if she could?

Therefore they had to find a way to get rid of Hilda secretly

Nathan looked at the mother and daughter indifferently. In Taadi, although the Adams family wasn’t part of the powerful family, they had a little influence compared to some other families. Mrs. Adams was know to be a noble lady with a good temper and a gentle personality where as Carmen was also a gentle and kind goddess in the entertainment industry.

But now looking at them, they looked ridiculous that they were lying. Nathan spoke out indifferently. “I have already located her here, or are you saying my intel isn’t right?”

Nathan relentlessly poked out their lies and their smile froze. Then, Mr. Lewis came forward with a flattering smile. “Well, Hilda doesn’t behave herself properly and brought trouble home lately. I just want to educate her. I don’t think Mr. Nathan would meddle in our family affairs would he?”

Family affairs? Nathan looked at him with disdain evident in his eyes, Hilda and him have been married for some months now and she is now a member of the Clemon family. It didn’t matter that their marriage was confidential and kept as a secret from the public. But it was never ever possible that a member of the Clemon family would be bullied by anyone else.

“Oh really?” Nathan sneered before he added. “You just hand her over to me and I will teach her a lesson on your behalf. I am sure you would be happy with the lesson I would teach her.”

For a moment, both sides were in a deadlock and none was willing to give in. At this time, Hilda’s voice was suddenly heard from above. “Nathan, are you there? I’m here! Save me! Please save me!”

There was a small window in the storage room where Hilda was locked up. A few minutes ago, she heard a car being driven in and she saw that of Nathan’s stopped at the entrance. It was his Maybach.

At the same time too she heard that several servant were whispering among themselves about the richest man of the country being in the living room and how the Adams family want to come up with a plan to get rid of her secretly and avoid any potential trouble.

Hearing all this, it was impossible for Hilda to remain inactive. She had yet to have her revenge and her biological fandily was still unknown. She couldn’t just die here, so she head to open the window and stretched out before shouting out with all her might as she was almost drained from her energy.

Nathan looked up

and saw a thin figure hanging from a small window. It was Hilda who was calling out to him and waving her arms as she shouted out to him. Her voice was hoarse but with a strong will to survive, she tried everything she can to attract his attention.

Nathan’s gaze darkened when he looked at Hilda’s shaky body on the window and felt that she would be blown off by the wind at any time, His heart broke looking at her like at but then his gaze still remained darkened as he stared at the people in front of him. “Is this how you educa her?”

Nathan then pushed the people in front of him away and walked straight to the room where Hilda was locked up in. He followed the sound of her voice and located the storage room accurately where there were a few servants who even sneaked out and even tried to stop him.
