“Get out of my way!” The anger in Nathan’s eyes was murderous as if he wanted to kill someone. He looked at the door and ordered coldly. “Open the door.”
“No, we can’t open it without Mr. Adams instructions.” One of the servant replied seeming unafraid of Nathan.
Nathan looked at him and the others indifferently that the coldness in his eyes made some afraid of him. “Open the door!” He said again this time his voice was even inore ruthless.
They still didn’t budge. As he looked around, he knew that he needed to save Hilda first and deal with them later so he looked towards the door and shouted. “Hilda, get off from the window and the door. I will kick the door open and let you out.”
After making sure Hilda was far from the door and window, he kicked the door hard. With a creak sound, the door was opened and a gust of dust flew up. Hilda looked up at the opened door as the dust entered into her and she started coughing. After catching her breath, she saw Nathan appear in front of her. The string that had been tense in her heart suddenly seem to have been broken.
This was the first time she felt protected by a man. Even though it was Nathan her husband, she still felt a kind of long lost warmth surging up in her heart.
Nathan looked at Hilda who was sitting on the ground with her clothes soaked wet. He reached out to touch her body and found that her temperature was rather low. He then frowned.
“Nathan..” Hilda called out to him softly.
After being pushed away by Nathan, the Adams family was stunned for a while and then rushed after Nathan only to find that he had already broken the storage door and had found Hilda so they were embarrassed.
No matter how tough they were to Hilda, it was not decent to be known for abusing their daughter.
“It’s in fact only a misunderstanding. She went against us that’s why…” Mrs. Adams tried to explain but at that time Nathan turned to stare at her coldly. She was so scared that she couldn’t continue after being stared at like that by Nathan.
Nathan’s gaze was emotionless but she felt an invisible sense of oppression.
Nathan took off his suit jacket and draped it on Hilda’s body before turning back to look at the Adams family with a cold icy gaze. “The Adams family which is praised by everyone in Taadi city could actually lock their own daughter in the storage room with her clothes wet on a cold winter day. If I hadn’t come, would you have frozen. her to death?”
Looking at Hilda who lips were frozen purple, Nathan knew for a fact that the Adams family wasn’t perfect as it was perceived to be.
Did Hilda deserve to be punished? Even if she did deserve to be punished, was this a way to go about it? This was the first time that he couldn’t help but doubt some of the things he used to believe in.
Nathan ignored these hypocrites and carried Hilda who was trembling on the ground in his arms and walked out of the storage room.
“Mr. Nathian, it is all but a simple misunderstanding. We can take good care of her. We were just teaching her a lesson and nothing else. She is our daughter after all.” Seeling that Nathan was going to take Hilda away in such a protective manner, Mr. Lewis became extremely anxious. He had a bad feeling that Hilda might take revenge on the Adams family for this.

warm. As Hilda felt his warmth from the hug, she couldn’t bring her self to get down from his arms although she was smelling unpleasantly. She just wanted to indulge in it.
However, a moment later, she came back to her senses and reached out to pull on Nathan’s chest. “Put me down. I can walk by myself.”
Nathan looked at Hilda whose face was pale as paper and ligs had turned weak purple because of the cold with eyes which were bright and gleamed with stubbornness.
Nathan then frowned. What is she trying to do? How could she still walk now with her current state? He thought before asking in an unhappy tone. “Why do you always want to argue with me, eh? Why are you always going against me?”
It was rare for him to be gentle to a woman but anytime he was gentle to Hilda, she didn’t show any emotion of
care.
“L. I’m so smelly.” Hilda said awkwardly since the water that had being splashed on her was polluted and had a foul smell. How could Nathan, who was a clean freak bear with something like this? Moreover, his clothes were all tailor made and quiet expensive. She didn’t want to stain it
Nathan became serious and Hilda was ready to be put down But to her surprise, Nathan sped up his walking and brought her to his car. The bodyguard who had been outside all this while walked forward and opened the back seat for Nathan.
He then placed Hilda in the back seat with an exasperated expression he asked. “They splashed you with dirty water?”
Hilda looked down in embarrassment. Although Nathan know a lot or two about how some families favored sons to daughter’s, he had never seen a daughter being splashed with water no dirty water on a cold winter day by their parents or step parents or foster parents.
“Are they your family or enemies?” Nathan looked at Hilda and asked.
Hilda didn’t say anything and smiled in a sense of self mockery. In the eyes of outsiders, this kind of thing was totally unbelievable but she had been used to it. No one would believe it even if she did tell as they might think she was in the wrong.
Nathan looked at Hilda who was smiling. Indeed she was smiling but the despair made people feel suffocated which made his heart beat seem to pause for a moment.
“Next time, don’t come back alone.” With that Nathan entered the car and started it.
The car moved steadily, and the heater warmed Hilda up quickly. As soon as she felt the warmth, she only felt her eye lids becoming heavy as she felt sleepy. She tried to keep herself awake but she couldn’t resist the tiredness from her inner body and fell asleep immediately.
Meanwhile, after Nathan took Hilda out of the Adams family, Mr. and Mrs. Adams panicked at the fact that Hilda would come back and take her revenge on them whiles Carmen was also fuming that Hilda got to know Mr. Nathan and that he would personally come to the Adams family and get her. And didn’t mind causing a ruckus between the two families.
Although their families where miles apart when it comes to status and power, Nathan kicking up a fuss now wasn’t something to be reckoned on. Unless Hilda was of some Importance to him.
Mrs. Adams spoke up. “Lewis, I think it is about time you tell her about her biological family so she let’s go of the mindset of seeking revenge on the Adams family. Because she goes ahead with it, we would all be doomed. Just look at how Mr. Nathan is so protective of her.”

“Don’t worry, I know what to do.” With that he got up and went into his study.
Mrs. Adams noticed Carmen’s ugly look and went up to her. “Carmen, how come Hilda got to know a big shot like Mr. Nathan?”
“How am I suppose to know mom? But I don’t think Mr. Nathan would even want anything to do with Hilda after all, there are so many pretty girls aside Hilda. I think he is just using her.” But yet still she is basking in his glory now, she thought sadly to herself without voicing it out.
How come Hilda always tend to have all the good stuffs. Argghh she didn’t want to believe that it was a fact that Hilda really had something to do with Mr. Nathan.
“Carmen, you need to get close to Hilda so you could take Mr. Nathan from her. You know you are far prettier than her. I bet if Mr. Nathan had seen you first he wouldn’t have gone for Hilda.” Mrs. Adams said shamelessly.
Carmen smiled. Of course I’m prettier than Hilda so…. With that thought in mind, Carmen smiled. “I get it mom but you know I am already engaged to Daniel.”
Mrs. Adams looked at her and shook her head before shamelessly adding, “Daniel? Daniel is but nothing even in the eyes of the Cross family and you are thinking about letting the chance of you being the wife of the richest man in the country go to waste just because of Daniel?”
Thinking about what her mom said, Carmen thought she had a point. Of course who would let the chance of the wife of the richest and most handsome bachelor of X country go to waste. She just smiled shamelessly and nodded. “Of course mom. I get it.”
