Chapter 48
At the Clemon hospital, Gloria was happily having a conversation with the Patriarch when the Patriarch suddenly asked out of the blue. “What do you think about you and Nathan getting married this time around?”
Gloria was surprise at first that the Patriarch wanted her to marry Nathan then again she knew no one could get in her way as she was the only powerful woman with both status and power and matched perfectly with Nathan.
She shyly lowered her head before sighing. And in a wobbly voice she replied “I have always wanted to get married to Nathan. We grew up together and I have always thought that we would get married. But I didn’t know what happened for Nathan to change his mind all of a sudden. Grandpa you know, I am still in love with him. I have always loved him”
Hearing her voice that wobbly, that goes up and down as if she was going to cry he held her hand. “Don’t worry. Nathan and you would definitely get married. I would do everything in my power to make sure you get married. You know you are the only lady that suites him best.”
Gloria was filled with glee inside her heart as she thought. Nathan, who did you think you are that I won’t get you. As far as I have my eyes on you, you are going to be mine.”
But her expression was that of an aggrieved child. “Grandpa, you know Nathan is stubborn. What if he doesn’t want to marry me?”
“Don’t worry my dear. Don’t you have faith in your grandpa anymore?”
“Not that grandpa but Nathan…”
“That’s ok. Just leave everything to me.”
Nathan who was currently outside the ward and was about to enter the ward halted his steps after he over heard the conversation between his grandfather and Gloria and then his face clouded with rage. What did his grandfather mean by saying he would get everything done? If he thinks he is going to get me to marry Gloria then he can dream on.
Nathan turned and walked away. He walked to a lonely corner and took out a cigarettes to smoke. He lit the cigarettes but didn’t take a puff as he thought back to his younger days. At that time, all he had in his mind was to marry Gloria after they are old enough.
To him Gloria was everything to him till he visited the Adams residence and met the little girl. From then on, he began to have second thoughts about Gloria being his wife. Every time he was alone, he would hear that little girl’s sweet and melodious voice.
Anytime he was stuck with something and couldn’t move on, the little girl’s voice would resound in his ears. “Do come back again. The baby would start crying whenever she doesn’t see her dad around” Little Hilda being the one saying this.
Thinking about this, he smiled. Burnt the cigarettes and walked out of the hospital without looking back.
Hilda was fast asleep on her hospital bed when she felt a faillar hand tugging her properly in bed. She turned around and smiled before calling out “Nathan…”
“Him” Nathan who was back to Hilda’s ward stared at he oving.
Hilda moved a little and gestured with her hand for Nathan to lay down beside her. Nathan smalled after getting the sign. He took of his shoes and lay beside her

Although the bed wasn’t big enough for two people, Hilda and Nathan were able to lie in it. Immediately Nathan lay down beside her, Hilda moved into his arms.
Nathan froze immediately as Hilda stared moving her body to find a comfortable spot. Immediately she was comfortable enough, she fell back asleep. Nathan who was laying stiff on the bed could feel his erection but he could do nothing to control himself.
After so much efforts, he also feel asleep. Samuel who was about to get off work came into the ward to check up on Hilda before leaving when he caught sight of the two people on the bed. He froze as he lips curled into a smile.
Who would have thought that Nathan would be the first to get himself her wife. Thinking about this, he happy took out his phone and took a picture of the two of them and sent it to Kyle with the caption. “I don’t want to be single anymore. How about giving your sister to me?” He then added the crying emoji.
Kyle who was in the middle of something heard his phone ring with a message notification. Frowning, he took it out only to see that it was a message from Samuel. ‘What does this man want from me at this time of the night‘ Thinking about this he inputted his passwords to open his phone.
When he swiped up to open his phone he then saw the message. He frowned after reading the text and looked at the picture. He took a look at the man on the hospital bed with a woman in his arms and frowned. Why does this man look familiar. Taking a closer look, he noticed it was Nathan.
He laughed out loud after taking a closer look. “Who would have thought that Nathan would be this loving?” He read Samuel’s message and replied him with. ‘I would never give my sister to a coward like you. Buzz off!”
When Samuel saw the message he nearly cried. “Who says I’m a coward? I’m willing to do anything to be with your sister.‘ He replied back still standing in Hilda’s ward.
Kyle smirked. ‘Just go and manage your family company. After you are in–depth with it, you can come back and talk to me about my sister.‘ Kyle replied back.
When Kyle saw the message, he nearly cried. He didn’t like being a business man. All he wanted to do was be a doctor and save lives. Was that too much to ask? He looked at the message and replied with a sad and crying emoji. ‘I’m willing to do anything else apart from managing my family’s company. Please, please. I promise to take very good care of her.‘
Kyle smiled. He knew for a fact that Samuel would never enter into the business world. ‘Managing the company or nothing else. I’m in the middle of something. Bye!!!‘ Kyle replied and tucked his phone back into his pocket.
Samuel received his cold reply and was murmuring something to himself only to be frightened by a cold voice. Are you done? You may leave now,”
He looked up only to see Nathan standing right in front of him. “Man, you scared me.”
Nathan who had been sleeping suddenly heard foot steps of someone walking into Hilda’s ward. He then pretended to be asleep to see who it was but to his surprise he saw Samuel walking in.
After he walked in, he had a shocked expression on his face before taking out his phone to take a picture. Nathan pretended to be asleep so he could take the picture and leave immediately he was done. But to surprise, Samuel stood there and began chatting with his phone.
He stood up and stood in front of him for like five minutes without Samuel knowing but Samuel still didn’t notice him. As he was getting impatient his voice then resonated to the quiet hospital ward which almost frightened Samuel.
Nathan looked at him indifferently and said again. “If you are done, you may leave.”

Nathan’s gaze darkened when he heard Samuel calling Hilda our wife. “Who did you just call our wife? If is missing, go look for her. There is no need to call mine ‘Our Wife“.” Nathan replied indifferently. Samuel who was about to walk out stopped in his steps. What’s wrong with me calling Hilda our wife? He thought. He looked back at Nathan speechlessly. “Do you need to add salt to my wounds now? Are you that possessive now? Okay your wife. Are you happy now?”
With that Samuel walked out of the ward speechless.
