Chapter 6
At the hospital.
Getting out of the car, Nathan decided to carry her again. Sensing what he wanted to do, Hilda backed away saying, “I can walk don’t worry.”
Shaking his head, he watched as she limped into the hospital.
In the hospital, Hilda was taken into a ward to be taken care of. Taking this chance, Stanley moved over to Nathan and said. “Sir, about the meeting with the cents from America, they are already waiting for you.”
With a cold glare he said coldly with a deep meaning “You seem to be regressing Stanley.” Ignoring him, he walked into the ward. Noticing him, the doctors bowed respectfully and explained her condition to him.
“Mr. Nathan, it is nothing serious. She seemed to have sprained her ankle but she is going to be okay after some few days of treatment.”
Nodding his head, the doctors walked out.
Looking at Hilda meaningfully, he said sarcastically. “You can’t wait to be my woman so you throw yourself at my car to get my attention, no?”
Angrily, Hilda snorted. “Me? Who said I can’t wait to be with you? If you were not the one who brought me here, do you think I would have wanted to be around you? Dream on.”
“Wooh, you really are a fierce one. I was just teasing you. Anyway, have you thought about my proposal of being my woman?”
Flippantly she replied. “In your dreams. I won’t even think about being with you.”
Squinting at her with his eyes gleaming he said. “You are objecting the idea of being my wife violently Miss Hilda. But that isn’t going to work. The more you refuse, the more I want to marry you. I want just you.”
“But why? You already know my story. My boyfriend became my brother–in–law, my parents do not trust me. The public is even against me so why would you want to marry me?”
Looking at her he said. “Don’t sell yourself short. Contrary to what you believe and think about yourself, you are not completely out of resources and support. From now on, you will have me.‘
A sense of danger crept up in her. Her intuition told her that this man isn’t that simple as he looks. “I don’t need your help.”
Leaning languidly on the wall, he looked at Hilda. “Don’t you want to go against him? Don’t you hate him for hurting you? After all he was the closest person to you.”
“What do you want?”
“Just marry me.” He sauntered over, making Hilda who was on the hospital bed’s heart beat, uncontrollable.

This guy must be mad. “Mr. Nathan, don’t you understand? I won’t marry you. I don’t know you and I don’t love you.
“Who do you love then? Daniel? Well too bad because now, he is your brother–in–law. And you shouldn’t be thinking of getting him back.” Nathan said mercilessly.
Waiting for her answer, he held her chin. Hilda swatted his hands away. “What has my life got to do with you? Why must you marry me?”
“I want a wife and you fit the description. And you are the only woman whom I don’t feel disgusted being around with.”
“What? Are you sick? What do you mean by you don’t feel disgusted by me? Mr. Nathan, if you got any problem, go see a doctor.”
Nathan smiled ar her. “You don’t need to give me a response this soon. I will be back to check on you. You can also call me if you are done thinking it through. No pressure but I will be waiting for a positive answer. Don’t say no to a kind offer.
“Kind offer? He must have some hidden agenda.” Looking at the door where he walk out of, Hilda’s face fell.
She never expected her boyfriend to hook up with her sister once she was away to further her studies. She is the victim here but everyone out there was saying she is a homewrecker. Even her mother was on her sister’s side.
Nathan looked like a young gentleman though and among the society of Taadi city, he had an outstanding status and prestige. In fact, he was also known as the richest man in Taadi City. Therefore no one would question him when he makes a decision
Hilda who was still lying on the bed had an expression as if she was in a daze on her face. Her lackluster eyes seemed empty. Her eyes reflected desolation. She felt like she was just an empty and numb vessel
at that moment.
It took me so much to love when Daniel courted me back then. I left to study per his wishes so I could manage to secure a managerial position his family’s company only for me to come back for me to be stabbed in the back by him.
Since she hasn’t eaten anything the whole day, her stomach started growling with hunger. Pressing on the bell beside her bed, a nurse entered. She was in the VIP ward and since it was Mr. Nathan who brought her himself, the nurses attended to her diligently.
After some time, food was brought him for her. Looking at the food, she said. “I didn’t request for this.”
Nodding the nurse reply. “Mr. Nathan ordered these for you.”
Looking at the sumptuous meal, she smiled without even knowing it. Thanking the nurse, she started digging in. After some time, she finish up almost all the food.
Around dusk, she started feeling bored so she decided to take a nap.

Nathan was still in his office when he noticed it was passed working hours. Packing up, he decided to pass by the hospital since it has been two days. “Stanley, tell the driver to prepare the car we would be heading for the hospital.”
At the hospital, Hilda has been feeling bored every thine so she was fast asleep. Opening the door to her ward, the man’s eyes scanned Hilda thoroughly. He looked her up and down and frowned slightly Looking at her for the second time, he relaxed his scowl. He strode towards the bed.
The man then glanced coldly at Stanley as he broke the silence. “Go and get her discharge papers done with.” With that Stanley walked out.
His voice was cold yet mysterious and elegantly melodious. He sounded inexplicable tantalizing. Soon Hilda opened her eyes and revel in his voice.
All this while, Hilda has not really taken a really good look at him. But looking at him now, He was in a white shirt, the thin material of the shirt couldn’t hide his perfectly proportioned and sculped body. He stood there as those welcoming the breeze and he had a model–like figure. His short hair was messy but seemed stylish with several strand of stray hair on his forehead..
“You like what you see?” Breaking the silence Nathan asked with a smile.
Blushing Hilda stammered not knowing how to respond. “I, I, I…”
