Caroline held the bottle high and shook it gently. “This is the skincare set you’ve been using these past two days, correct?”
“Yes.”
“That’s it.”
“We’ve been using it morning and night.”
In front of everyone, Caroline poured out the remaining lotion from the bottle. She brought it close to her nose and sniffed. It didn’t take long for her to catch something unusual.
There was a distinct smell of alcohol.
This skincare set is specially designed for sensitive skin, made with all–natural ingredients, and even minimal additives. How could it contain alcohol?
And the scent was so strong that she could detect it easily–there was clearly a significant amount added. It was obvious that someone had intentionally tampered with the product.
Caroline raised her head, her gaze sweeping across the dozen female employees standing before her. Their faces were visibly red and peeling. Have they been instructed and bribed to add alcohol themselves to create the adverse reactions? Or… has someone tampered with the product behind the scenes?
She handed the bottle to Anna. “Smell this.”
Anna immediately noticed the problem. “There’s alcohol in this! But our formula doesn’t include it!”
As soon as she said that, the employees erupted.
“What do you mean by that? Are you saying I added the alcohol myself?”
“Exactly. What kind of woman would risk her own face like that?”
“Look at me now–I can’t even face my boyfriend.”
Caroline quickly interjected, “The formula truly doesn’t include any alcohol, and I can guarantee that. As for what’s going on here, I will get to the bottom of it and give you all an explanation. For now, given your skin’s condition, stop using any cosmetics or skincare products immediately. Wash your face with lukewarm water morning and night, and only apply medical–grade Vitamin E cream until your skin barrier is repaired. It should take about a week.”
Then, Caroline bowed deeply. “I’m truly sorry that you’re facing this situation. You participated in the trial for Caroz out of goodwill, and this happened. I take responsibility for that. I apologize.”
The room fell silent.
Caroline’s sincere attitude left everyone with little room to argue further.
Besides, Caroline had been promoted by Boris himself. Offending her could create issues with him as well.
At that moment, the steady, rhythmic sound of leather shoes echoed in the corridor.

Someone in the crowd called out, and everyone instinctively stepped aside to make way. The atmosphere
grew even tenser.
Everyone in the Ellison Group knew that David was in a terrible mood today, and most employees were doing their best to avoid him altogether. Now, with this situation unfolding…
Caroline was in trouble.
The same question ran through everyone’s mind. Would Mr. Ellison fire her on the spot?
Caroline raised her head and met David’s gaze. His eyes were cold, devoid of any warmth or emotion.
“Mr. Ellison,” Caroline greeted him first.
She knew she couldn’t fight him–especially here in the company. He was her boss, after all.
No matter how much she resented him, she remained beneath him in status.
David’s long fingers picked up the bottle of lotion, and his tone was casual. “Do you know what mistake you’ve made?”
Though his words lacked any harshness, they carried an inexplicable weight that sent chills down her spine.
Caroline paused for few

ends before replying, “I made no mistake. So, I don’t know.”
David’s gaze instantly sharpened as it fell on her.
“Hmm?”
