Chapter 197 Your Time Is Up
David strode into Newton Group’s lobby, his presence commanding and unmistakable. His sharp gaze cut through the air like a blade, and not a single person dared to step in his path.
Without encountering a single obstacle, he made his way directly to Nash’s office.
“Mr. Ellison?”
Nash stood up the moment he saw him, surprise flickering across his face.
“Mr… Mr. Newton,” the secretary stammered behind David, her voice unsteady. “I… I didn’t even have time to inform you… Mr. Ellison, he just… he just walked in…
Nash waved a hand dismissively. “Get back to your work.”
The secretary hesitated for only a second before quickly retreating, making sure to shut the door behind her.
Nash stepped out from behind his desk, his expression calm but inquisitive. “To what do I owe the honor, Mr. Ellison? And would you prefer tea or coffee?”
David stood tall, hands casually tucked into the pockets of his tailored slacks. “Either.”
His face betrayed nothing, his gaze an impenetrable mask.
Nash poured a cup of tea and extended it with both hands. “Mr. Ellison.”
David’s reputation preceded him. Regardless of the circumstances, Nash had no choice but to remain courteous. Though, truth be told, he had no idea what had prompted this unexpected visit.
David, however, made no move to accept the cup.
Nash nudged it slightly forward. “Since you’re already here, you might as well take a sip. In fact, I’ve been meaning to have a conversation with you. No time like the present, let’s do it now.”

David’s voice was steady, devoid of any warmth. “What do you want to talk about?”
Nash didn’t hesitate. “Caroline.”
The moment the name left his lips, David suddenly reached out, snatched the cup, and without warning, flung the steaming tea into Nash’s face.
The tea splattered across his crisp white shirt, staining it instantly.
Yet Nash remained composed. It was almost as if he had anticipated such à reaction. Without a word, he lifted a hand and wiped the tea from his face. “You have quite the temper, Mr. Ellison.”
A man of David’s stature never needed to personally seek anyone out. If he wanted to meet someone, a single call would suffice, and they would come to him.
Which meant David had come here for a reason.
Nash studied him for a moment before his lips curved to a slight smirk. “Tell me, Mr. Ellison, is this how

The mere thought of the bruises on Caroline’s body sent a surge of anger through Nash’s veins.
Even if David hadn’t inflicted them himself, he had allowed it.
“How dare you mention Caroline to me?” David’s voice was dangerously low, his tone carrying an unspoken threat. “Nash, your time is up.”
Finished
It didn’t matter whether Nash had willingly taken Caroline’s innocence or had forced the Brooks family into selling her off.
The fact remained. He had touched her.
For that alone, he deserved to die.
Nash met his gaze evenly. “I don’t quite understand what you mean, Mr. Ellison. What grave sin have I committed to warrant such a reaction?”
David’s eyes narrowed. “Do you think playing dumb will save you?”
“I genuinely have no idea what you’re implying,” Nash replied smoothly. “Perhaps it’s my past with Caroline that unsettles you, makes you uncomfortable.
“Your past with Caroline? Was it only during your university years?”
“Yes.”
David’s patience shattered.
In an instant, he grabbed Nash by the collar and yanked him forward, his steps forceful and unrelenting. He drove Nash back until his spine slammed into the floor–to–ceiling window.
Bang!
The impact sent a tremor through the glass.
“Caroline already confessed,” David growled, his grip tightening. A vein pulsed at his temple, his fury barely restrained. “I knew everything you two did behind my back. Do you really need me to spell it out?”
