Chapter 198 How Dare You!
There had only ever been two irrefutable truths between Nash and Caroline.

First, he had abandoned his four–year pursuit of Caroline and hastily gotten engaged to Julia. That was his mistake. He admitted it. He was a scumbag, and he took full responsibility.
Second, he had purchased Caroline’s first time from the Brooks family.
Beyond these, there was nothing else, No illicit secrets, no disgraceful acts.
David had always been aware of the first.
And judging by today’s confrontation, he was clearly here for the second.
“I see,” Nash said evenly. “Mr. Ellison, you found out that I bought Caroline, didn’t you?”
David’s voice was ice. “What do you think?”
“That’s right. I bought her.” Nash’s tone was unwavering. “The Brooks family was beyond depraved. They put a price on her virginity, and I just so happened to find out. If I hadn’t stepped in, my conscience would have never let me rest.”
David scoffed. “The Brooks family tells a different story According to them, you forced their hand, made them sell her to you for your own pleasure.”
“Absurd!” Nash shot back, his composure snapping. “The Brooks family is twisting the truth! Why would I randomly decide to buy Caroline? Do you really think Id do something that vile? They’re framing me!”
His words aligned perfectly with Caroline’s.
Yet they directly contradicted the Brooks family’s claims.
He had no way of knowing who was lying and who was telling the truth.
There was no proof.
Only their conflicting accounts.
David’s voice turned razor–sharp. “But you still bought her.”
Nash fell silent.
Several seconds passed before he exhaled sharply and nodded. “Yes. I bought her.”
So this was why David had come, to settle the score.
But if he hadn’t intervened, Caroline would have been sold to some other wealthy man. She would have lost everything, and that would have been even worse.
Yes, he had bought her.
But he had never touched her.

Chapter 198 How Dare You!
The impact was brutal.
A sharp crack echoed through the room as blood gushed from Nash’s nose.
His vision blurred. His head spun. For a moment, he couldn’t even think.
And David wasn’t done.

“How dare you touch what’s mine?” His voice was deadly. “How dare you buy her and put your hands on her? Do you have a death wish?”
Though reeling, Nash remained conscious.
He managed to force out, “At the time, I had no idea the Brooks and Ellison families were discussing an engagement.”
David’s fury only deepened. “Ignorance doesn’t absolve you. And worse, you didn’t even take precautions! Nash, you’re unbelievable. First her body, then her heart, and now, even the child she’s carrying belongs to. you.”
Nash froze.
His breath caught in his throat.
The weight of David’s words crashed over him like a tidal wave..
But before he could even process it, David’s fists came down again, relentless, merciless.

“Caroline may forgive you. Hell, she might even be grateful, thinking you saved her,” David spat. “But I won’t. You think I don’t know what you really wanted? Maybe, at first, you did it out of some twisted sense of salvation. But in the end, you still got exactly what you wanted. What kind of man does that make you? What kind of gentleman are you, Nash?” He let out a harsh laugh. “If I don’t end you today, I’m not David Ellison.”
Nash’s body slid down against the floor–to–ceiling window, finally collapsing onto the ground.
He didn’t fight back.
He didn’t even raise his hands to defend himself.
He just sat there, his mind blank, as David’s words echoed over and over.
“The child she’s carrying belongs to you.”
