Chapter 200 I Did Not Go Into the Room
David and Nash stared at each other, and in that brief moment, countless thoughts flashed through David’s mind.
He grabbed Nash’s collar again. “What are you saying?”

Nash sighed deeply. “Yes, I did buy Caroline from the Brooks family, because I didn’t want her to lose her virginity and fall into the hands of a wealthy man to be used as a plaything. But after I bought her, I never intended to do anything to her. I pursued her for four years. I cherish and respect her so much. How could I possibly take her in such a way? If I did that, I wouldn even deserve to be called a man!”
“I didn’t go into the room that night. I never touched Caroline. I wasn’t even there! Mr. Ellison, tell me, how could Caroline be pregnant with my child? I bought her to save her from the Brooks family, not to satisfy my own desires!” Nash became more and more agitated as he spoke, his voice growing hoarse and breaking.
It was clear how turbulent his emotions were.
Even David was taken aback, his eyes widening slowly as his pupils darted around in disbelief.
“You… you didn’t touch Caroline?” he asked. “You weren’t even there that night?”
“Exactly! So, Caroline’s child can’t possibly be mine. If she had gotten pregnant with my child, I would have given up everything I have now to be with her! No one would be able to stop me!”
After his engagement to Julia, Nash hadn’t been happy at all.
His time was filled with a heavy workload, leaving no time to catch his breath.
He had received great help from the Woods family, and his career had soared to new heights. The senior management of Newton Group had high expectations for him, and his future looked bright.
Julia, the daughter of a wealthy family, had a princess–like temperament, and he often had to placate her and spend time with her.
Over time, he became exhausted.
Moreover, he didn’t love Julia at all. There was no affection. Staying together every day felt like fulfilling a duty. He didn’t gain any happiness from the relationship, only benefits.
If he could start over, Nash thought, he would choose Caroline.
If that night, he had really lost his mind and slept with Caroline, and she had become pregnant with his child, he would have chosen Caroline without hesitation.
Sadly, there was no chance to make a different choice.
That night, he had controlled himself and never entered the room.
“Mr. Ellison, Nash said, “You’ve misunderstood me, and you’ve wrongly accused Caroline.”
David slowly stood up, silently standing still, his hands hanging at his sides, as if his soul had been drained.

He was the buyer, and he didn’t show up, so naturally, Caroline had waited in vain. No one had entered her room, and she had been alone the entire time.
Nash had always thought Caroline knew he hadn’t come, so he hadn’t felt the need to explain.
