She grabbed Nash’s arm, trying to drag him away.
But Nash stood rooted to the spot.

“Yeah, maybe I am insane!” Nash let out a bitter laugh. “I’ve been too rational all these years, and look where it’s gotten me. I don’t care about anything else anymore–I just want Caroline! I want to protect her!”
Julia’s voice trembled. “Then what about me? What am I to you?”
“Julia, you’ll find someone better. Someone who’s truly meant for you. I—”
