Caroline had thought she was just here to bandage his wound–nothing more. A simple task, nothing like those cliché situations where she’d have to stay the night.
But in the end…
She still had to stay. She had to sleep with David.
And it was all to help him counteract the effects of the aphrodisiac!
“Uh, you should take a cold shower–no, an ice bath!” Caroline blurted. I’ll call the front desk to send up some ice. That should definitely cool you down!”
She hurriedly tried to climb off his lap and make a run for it, but… it was too late.
David pulled her back effortlessly.
In the next moment, he flipped her beneath him, pinning her to the couch.
Caroline instinctively struggled, kicking out in an attempt to shove him away. But before her foot could. even land. David pressed his knee against her leg, holding her in place.
She reached up to push him off, but he caught her wrist with ease, pinning her hands above her head.
Even injured, David had no trouble subduing her.
His lips crashed down on hers, burning hot, filled with an uncontrollable desire.
This time, David couldn’t hold back anymore. The fire raging inside him was far stronger than when the drug had first taken effect.
Because the woman beneath him was Caroline.
Earlier, when the drug was in full force, David had still retained a shred of reason–he had fought to suppress it, to stay in control.
But now, all he wanted was to give in completely.
“David, you–mmph!”
Caroline barely managed to get out a few words before his lips silenced her again.
His kisses were wild, scorching.
From her lips to her ears, then down her neck, her collarbone… and lower…
“No, stop–Caroline panicked. “David, don’t let the drug control you! Snap out of it! I’ll call a doctor–just stop! There has to be another way to counteract it! Just let go of me–ah! David! Your arm–you can’t put pressure on it! You’re still injured
But no matter what Caroline said, nothing could stop him.
At this point, she wasn’t even sure was this really the drug talking? Or was David just using it as an excuse

She couldn’t tell. And neither could David.
The drug’s effects seemed to have faded. It wasn’t nearly as intense as when Elizabeth was here.
His mind was clear. His vision sharp. His reasoning intact. He knew exactly what he was doing.
And he wanted to keep going.
In fact, what he felt now-
Was even stronger than when the drug was in full effect His body craved it.
His emotions surged, demanding release. He wanted Caroline–right here, right now.
And deep inside, a dark thought surfaced-
If Caroline confronted him about it tomorrow, he could blame it all on the drug.
It wasn’t him. It was the aphrodisiac.
Even though, deep down, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Caroline fought against him with all her strength. “If you need a woman that badly… David, I’ll find one for you! Right now!”
That made David pause.
Bracing his hands on either side of her, he lifted his head and narrowed his eyes at her. “What did you just say?
She didn’t hesitate. “I’ll find you a woman!”
David’s eyes darkened. “Caroline, how generous of you offering to find another woman for your own husband? Hmm?”
Caroline bit her lower lip. She didn’t want to be his antidote.
