His expression remained icy, distant as ever–untouchable.
At the Research Department, Break Room. Caroline and Anna happened to be standing by the window when they saw Elizabeth being dragged away.
“That was satisfying to watch,” Anna said, grinning. I never thought I’d see the day. She always acted so high and mighty, but look at her now. Karma really does come around–this is just perfect. She bullied you so much before. Now’s your chance to get back at her. Don’t waste it, and definitely don’t go soft. People like Elizabeth? You have to keep them under your foot, so they never get the chance to rise again.”
Caroline stayed silent.
“What’s wrong?” Anna frowned. “Caroline, don’t tell me you’re actually thinking of forgiving her? Do you remember everything she put you through? Don’t make the mistake of forgetting just because the pain. isn’t fresh anymore.

Caroline turned to look at her. “Elizabeth’s humiliation today… could easily be mine tomorrow. When David liked her, he gave her everything, backed her up no matter what.
