“David, let me make one thing clear, you can be as passionate, as entangled, as madly in love with Elizabeth as you want. That’s your business, but don’t you dare keep stringing me along at the same time! It’s disgusting!”
“I was never entangled with her!” David Ellison snapped. “It was just one night! Only one night!”
Caroline fixed her gaze on him. “Oh Impressive, then. Both you and her body are quite efficient.”
David brows furrowed, her words dripped with sarcasm, and it unsettled him more than he cared to admit.
Elizabeth pregnancy… had truly been an accident.
He hadn’t even known the woman he slept with that night was Elizabeth until afterward. By the time he found out, it had already been too late for any precautions.
At that time, Elizabeth was already pregnant, no one had realized it yet, but the damage was done.

“David, my pregnancy was the result of assault. I was forced. I had no choice! You know exactly how I got pregnant!” Caroline Brooks bit down on her lip so hard that she tasted blood. “But what about you and Elizabeth? Don’t tell me you were forced into bed with her too!”

“My involvement with Elizabeth was an accident. And the child, was an even bigger accident!”
David couldn’t explain the circumstances of that night. And frankly, he didn’t have the time to argue anymore. He didn’t want to argue, he still had to go to the hospital.
David turned around, heading for the door. “Caroline, you don’t understand me at all.”
All she did was argue! All she did was fight! Not a trace of gentleness or grace!

David’s steps faltered just for a second. Then, without a word, he walked faster.
His silence was the only answer she need.
A moment later, the sound of an engine starting echoed from outside. Caroline stood in the empty living room, staring at the driveway.
