Sold to a Handsome Trillionaire
Chapter 317 Do You Still Think He Loves Me?
If Caroline left now, David wouldn’t release her commission, leaving her with no way to get it

He was the acting president of Ellison Group. If he didn’t approve it, the finance department wouldn’t transfer a single cent into her account.
She had no choice.
She needed the money.
With two babies on the way, formula, diapers, clothes, everything would be a huge expense. She had to start saving now.
So she swallowed her pride and forced herself to endure.
“Fine.” She nodded. “Mr. Ellison, if that’s what you want, of course, I’ll comply”
David smirked coldly. “At least you know what’s good for you.
Money was Caroline’s weakness.
And he would use it to keep her under his control.
With that, he walked away with Elizabeth, moving through the banquet hall as if nothing had happened.
The other guests instinctively steered clear of the dessert table, unwilling to get caught in the crossfire.
Just then, a damp towelette appeared in front of Caroline.
“Wipe yourself off.”
“Mr. Boris…” She took it and let out a weary sigh. “I’m sorry
Boris frowned. “What are you apologizing to me for? If you had just said those three words earlier, none of this would have happened.”
“I let your kindness go to waste. I know you wanted to help me, so I should apologize. You’re the only one who’s still willing to stand by me. Right now, I’m like the plague, everyone else wants to stay as far away as possible.”
Caroline slowly dabbed at her face, but there was no way to clean herself up properly.
Boris didn’t step in to help.
After all, she was David’s wife.
No matter how much he disapproved, there were lines he wouldn’t cross.
“I told you to run, but you didn’t. I told you to apologize, and you refused.” Boris said helplessly. “What was the point of all this? It didn’t do you any good.”
“I know,” Caroline murmured. “But sometimes, people just need to hold on to their pride.”

Boris raised a brow. “And what exactly did you gain from it?”
Caroline was momentarily stunned.
That was a good question.
She had no idea what she had fought for.

Seeing her at a loss for words, Boris sighed and rubbed his forehead. “A wise person adapts to the situation. You’re a smart woman. You knew to get Anna out of here first. But when it comes to yourself, why did you suddenly become so foolish?”
Caroline said nothing.
“And David… Boris sighed again, scolding his friend just as harshly. “What is he even doing? Treating your like this… You think he feels good about it? He doesn’t. It’s just that…”
He trailed off, unable to find the right words.”
Caroline was too stubborn.
Elizabeth knew exactly how to fan the flames.
David’s temper flared too easily.
It was a perfect storm that led to this mess.
Caroline looked up at him. “Mr. Boris, do you still think David loves me?”
Boris didn’t hesitate. “I know he does.”
Afraid she wouldn’t believe him, he quickly added, “I swear on my character, he loves you more than anyone. It’s not Elizabeth. It’s you.”
Caroline slowly smiled, her eyes curving.
“Really,” Boris insisted. “I’m telling the truth.”
David had admitted it to him personally. There was no doubt.
Caroline’s smile remained, but her voice was distant.
“He loves me, yet he treats me like this. She chuckled softly. “What’s so special about that kind of love?”
She tilted her head slightly. “Mr. Boris, if someone loved you like a demon, hurting you at every turn in the name of love, could you accept it?”
Boris had no answer.
