Chapter 341 Enjoying Life Without Me at the Ellison Residence?
“Madam.” Paul suddenly appeared.
Caroline jumped, clutching her chest. “Paul! You scared me to death.”
Finished
She was already feeling guilty about sneaking around, and she definitely didn’t need any more scares.
“Madam, what are you looking for?”
“Oh, nothing. Nothing at all,” Caroline denied quickly. Then, after a moment, she asked, “Is David back yet?”
She hadn’t seen him in the living room. What if he is in the study or the master bedroom?
“No, Mr. Ellison isn’t home.”
Caroline let out a relieved breath, her steps instantly lighter.
As she changed her shoes and placed her bag on the cabinet, she muttered, “Great, another wonderful night all to my-”
Before she could finish her sentence, Paul suddenly asked, “Madam, what did you just ask me?”
“Huh?”
“You asked me if Mr. Ellison was home, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” Caroline nodded. “And you already answered. You said he wasn’t here.”
Paul glanced behind her, swallowing nervously. “Madam, I take back what I said. Mr. Ellison… is home.”
Caroline frowned. He wasn’t home just a second ago, now he is? What, did David just teleport in? Or drop in from the sky?
She was about to question Paul when a deep, male voice suddenly sounded behind her. “Were you looking for me?”
Caroline froze on the spot.
That’s why Paul had been looking behind her… because David was standing right there.
“I… wasn’t looking for you,” Caroline said. “It’s just that. David, can you not suddenly appear behind me without making a sound? Do you even make noise when you walk?”
David let out a cold chuckle. “Another wonderful night all to yourself, huh?”
Caroline bit her lip in frustration.
Well, not anymore. His sudden appearance had ruined that plan.
David’s voice grew even colder. “Caroline, seems like you’re really enjoying life without me at the Ellison

“Drop the act,” he exposed her instantly. “The more you don’t want me around, the more I’ll show up.”
He brushed past her and walked into the living room, casually shrugging off his suit jacket.
Paul quickly took it and hung it up.
By the looks of it… he planned to spend the night at the Ellison residence.
Standing at the entrance to the
hom. Caroline let out a sigh.
What now? I’ve already gotten used to living alone, and now David’s back. I have to readjust all over again. Elizabeth, what are you doing? Use your tricks! Keep David by your side! Why let him come back here?
Just as she was thinking that, a phone rang.
David answered, “Hello?”
Caroline wasn’t paying much attention.
But after a moment, she noticed the slight shift in his expression–his face darkened just a little. “Got it. I’ll be right there.”
Caroline couldn’t help but feel a flicker of joy. Is he leaving? Fantastic!
Tonight had been full of ups and downs, but in the end, he was going to leave. That was a relief!
“You just got home, and now you’re heading out again? Caroline put on an expression of concern,
pretending to be reluctant. “You’re always so busy. You haven’t even had a chance to sit down, haven’t even had a sip of water… You work too hard.”
Saying that, she reached for his freshly hung suit jacket. “Are you driving yourself, or should I have the driver get the car ready? It’s late–be careful out there.”
