Chapter 398 Andrew Might Secretly Meet Elizabeth
“Shh, not so loud,” Caroline quickly hushed Anna.

“But seriously, what did you eat that cost this much?” Anna whispered. “This is more than my entire year’s living expenses!”
Caroline smirked. “That’s just how the wealthy live. I got to indulge a little, and I have to admit–the food was worth it.”
“You went to see Mr. Cameron yesterday, right? So…. was it dinner with him?”
Caroline gave a nod.
“Oh, great! You were out having a luxurious dinner while I was drowning in work? Totally unfair,” Anna grumbled. “You better make it up to me!”
Caroline laughed. “Fine, I’ll get you something. Just wait.”
Leaving the R&D department, she headed to the Ellison Group accounting office to submit her reimbursement receipt. Then, she made her way to the dessert shop across the street.
She knew Anna’s love for sweets.
Inside, an array of beautifully arranged pastries and fresh bread filled the display cases, each delicately crafted. Caroline carefully selected a variety and added a latte to the order.
“Ready to pay,” she told the cashier.
As soon as she turned around, a man approaching the register accidentally bumped into her.
She reacted quickly, stepping back just in time to prevent her coffee from spilling.
“I’m so sorry!” The man apologized immediately. “Are you alright?”
“It’s fine,” she said casually.
“Glad to hear that. Sorry again.”
It was a minor accident. Nothing worth thinking about.
But as she passed the stranger, something unexpected happened-
A small folded note slipped into her palm.
Her breath hitched. A sudden wave of tension spread through her body.
Who was this man? Why was he passing me a note?What did it say?Had something happened?
The questions raced through her mind, but she forced herself to remain composed.
She didn’t turn back. She didn’t flinch. She walked out of the shop as if nothing had happened.
Only after returning to the office and handing Anna her treats did she say, “I’m heading to the restroom.”

Caroline smiled but clenched the note even tighter in her hand.
Once inside the restroom, she locked the door behind her.
Her fingers slowly unfolded the wrinkled paper, careful not to tear it.

The message was short. “Andrew is likely meeting Elizabeth tonight. Watch them closely–you might find something. From Nash.”
Her eyes scanned the note twice before she made a quick decision–she tore it into small pieces and flushed them away.
Andrew… and Elizabeth? Did those two have a secret connection? Why was Nash passing this information to me? Did he expect me to dig up something significant?
Had it been anyone else, she would have dismissed it immediately.
But Nash wouldn’t go through the trouble of delivering this message unless it mattered.
And she trusted Nash,
After a moment’s thought, she came to a decision.
She had to investigate.
To put her plan into action, she stayed late at the R&D department, waiting until the office had completely emptied.
When the office finally emptied and the streets outside grew quiet under the cover of night, she finally clocked out and left Ellison Group.
She hailed a taxi, gave the driver the hospital’s name, and leaned back.
No hesitation–she was heading straight to Elizabeth’s hospital room. Would I uncover anything?
Feeling both restless and slightly uneasy, Caroline lowered the window slightly to catch some fresh air.
But unexpectedly… she noticed a sleek black Maybach following behind.
