Immediately, Caroline moved the pot of aloe vera from the corner, “How can I forget you, my little cutie pie? You are my savior!”
She totally forgot about getting off work. She cut the whole pot of aloe vera and used it for experimental purposes.
“I have a sense of feeling that I expect that I am able to make the formula out tonight,” Caroline mumbled and beamed with delight. “Whose belongs to this aloe vera? I must thank her tomorrow, treat her with a feast, and compensate her with a larger pot of aloe vera
Upon she finished speaking, a loud screaming sound came from the doorway, “Ah! What are you doing? Why are you touching my plant?”
Caroline was shocked by this sudden loud screaming because the whole building was very quiet at midnight. Before she reacted to that person, the person had already rushed over to her, pushed her aside directly, and held up the pot of aloe vera.
Then, Caroline fell to the ground with a thud from the chair. She was terrified, especially because she was pregnant after all.
“How could I fall like this? What if I miscarry… What should I do?”
Caroline felt panicked and clutched her tummy with her hands; finally, her elbow hit the ground hard. Fortunately, her tummy was still well.
She looked up and found that the person was the female section chief of the Department of Research and Development, the head of the section responsible for managing all the equipment in the laboratory and other common–use items. If anyone needed anything, they would request it from her, while expensive or hazardous tools and materials required her permission
“Caroline, where is my aloe vera? Why do you leave only the empty pot here!” The female section chief questioned.
“I used it to…” Caroline started to reply, but the chief interrupted her.
The female chief section gave Caroline a really dirty look, “This plant was very expensive, how could you afford that price as a lower level staff with lower pay?”
