Chapter 103
Quinton was taken aback by the question, but he quickly shook his head. “No, I’ve never met my mom’s family since I was bom. Mom seemed to mention them a couple of times when I was little, but every time she brought it up. Dad would hir
her.
“Gradually, Mom stopped mentioning them” He felt downcast, and his hands paused. If Janet had family around, surely things wouldn’t have gotten so bad for her mentall
Quinlyn realized she had asked something she shouldn’t have and lowered her eyes a bit, saying, “Tm sorry”
Quinton gave a bitter smile. “It’s alright. You saved us, and because of you, my mom and I have the life we have today”
He used to live through chaos and hardships, feeling like he was in hell, never daring to imagine he’d one day be sleeping on such a luxurious cruise. Surprisingly, Janet adapted well and could sleep on the ship.
At this moment, Mandy curiously walked over, her big round eyes wide open, saying, “But Mrs. Suarez is so pretty! My dad said she looks even better than the movie stars on stage.”
Even Quinton had striking looks, having inherited all his mother’s best features.
“Yeah.” Quinton turned to look at Janet, admiration in his eyes. “My mom is the most beautiful person in the world.”
Mandy nodded in agreement. “My mom is the most beautiful too.”
Watching them, Quinlyn thought about her own mom, who must be beautiful as well, if only she could meet her.
An hour later, Quinlyn and her friends finally finished unwrapping their presents. Quinlyn counted the boxes and handed out “payments” to her two friends. Then she went over to Janet to give her share.
But Janet didn’t want it and instead pointed to a box with a necklace, saying, “Can I have this one?” She seemed to be in better spirits, speaking more clearly than usual.
“Mom, that’s Quinlyn’s item, it’s really expensive. Quinton hurried over. He glanced at the box, noticing a pearl necklace, and quickly added more. If it were something ordinary, he might consider buying it from Quinlyn, but that wasn’t the case
with this.
Yet, Janet was being stubborn, holding onto the necklace and refusing to let go.

“Mrs. Suarez, this is a birthday gifi someone gave me, so it wouldn’t be right to just give it away, Quinlyn, who always valued people’s feelings, said.
Seeing Janet still shaking her head, Quinlyn offered a middle ground, “If you really want it, we can go talk to the giver together.”
“Quinlyn, there’s no need…” Quinton tried to intervene, but Janet had already nodded and was happily pulling Quinlyn along as they went out.
The cruise was still out at sea, with a fireworks show planned for later that night. Most people were chatting and enjoying wine in the lounge area.
Quinlyn located the giver of the necklace, who happened to be a classmate’s parent. After explaining the situation, she apologized, “I’m sorry.”
The person was pleasantly surprised and quickly said, “No need to apologize. This gift is for you, so you’re entitled to do with it as you like. Plus, I’ve heard that you and this lady are like family now. To be noticed by such a beautiful woman, I’m truly honored”
These high society people really knew how to talk in a way that was both charming and smooth, Janet was genuinely

beautiful, so the other person couldn’t help but take a couple more glances. It was just unfortunate they heard she had
mental issues.
With the approval given. Quinlyn handed the necklace to Janet
Quinton felt a bit shy, but seeing his mom’s joy, he couldn’t help but personally help her put on the necklace
“Is it pretty?” Janet touched the shiny pearls and spun around like an innocent young girl, lifting her skirt as she asked.
Quinton stared blankly at Janet, who looked stunning under the lights, and nodded “Yes, you are beautiful.”
Janet then leaned over and gave him a gentle kiss on the check, laughing. “Thanks, my dear brother
Quinton was taken aback, feeling a little sad. Janet had mistaken him for someone else again
Only Quinlyn was quietly watching, observing Janet’s movements. Janet knew how to dance.
At 10 PM, the fireworks show started right on time. The guests on all three floors had plenty of room to enjoy it
The best view was from the third–floor deck, where colorful fireworks bloomed one after another, reflecting in the ocean as the evening breeze blew away the daytime heat.
Larry raised his glass and shouted, “Let’s celebrate Quinlyn’s tenth birthday!”
Everyone joined in immediately. “Happy Birthday, Quinlyn!”
“Happy birthday, Quinlyn! I want to come to your birthday party next year too, Mandy said as she hugged Quinlyn’s neck and gave her a big kiss on the cheek, her face beaming with joy.
Quinlyn smiled amidst the fireworks and the blessings from everyone on the boat. She nodded earnestly. “Yeah.” This was. the happiest birthday she had ever had.
By noon the next day, the cruise ship docked, and Yolanda was the first one to be made to leave.
“I’m so mad! Get a press release out now, saying the Hill family is abusing their power, splurging to celebrate a kid’s birthday, and polluting the ocean,” Yolanda fumed as soon as she got in the SUV, eager for revenge.
Unfortunately, Courtney’s phone kept buzzing, and she completely ignored Yolanda..
“Did you hear what I said?” Yolanda tugged on Courtney’s arm

Annoyed, Courtney shrugged her off, “What’s your issue? Every news outlet in town is about to cover your scandal on the cruise, and I have to handle it!”
“What?” Yolanda was taken aback and lost her temper, “How did it get exposed? Who did it?”
“How should I know? It’s your mess.” Courtney rolled her eyes at her, unable to hold back a lecture.
“If you’d just behaved and didn’t try so many little tricks, none of this would have happened–Before she could finish, she was slapped hard and fell under the seat.
Inside the spacious van, Yolanda’s disdain was evident as her high heel pressed firmly against Courtney’s face. “Who gave you the nerve to talk to me like that? You’re just working for me like a dog, and now you think you’re so bold?”
Courtney was horrified and struggled to get up. “Yolanda, your father is the one who hired me!”
