Chapter 123
Sensing Sawyer’s irritation, Leonard replied casually: [Sorry, I was just sitting next to the fingerprint scanner and acted on impulse. He sounded a bit apologetic, but not very.
Sawyer was so frustrated that he couldn’t find the words,
Quinlyn ignored their hanter and showed the message to the production team.
“Well, we can’t just determine the truth based on one comment from people online, right?” the director pointed out. He wanted to emphasize that scamming fingerprints and confirming identities in under a minute wasn’t realistic–this wasn’t the National Security Agency.
“My teacher is amazing, Quinlyn insisted.
The director chuckled at her naive enthusiasm. “How amazing?”
Quinlyn thought for a moment, opened her phone, and found Leonard’s bio to show him.
“Leonard? Just because they have the same username doesn’t mean you should exaggerate,” the director chuckled, clearly thinking Quinlyn was making a big deal out of nothing.
He warned, “Leonard is a renowned physicist in our country and has made significant contributions. You shouldn’t joke about famous people to clear your friend’s name.”
Quinlyn understood his reasoning but replied, “He’s really the one.”
The director frowned, losing patience with the conversation.
With no other option, Quinlyn clicked on Leonard’s profile picture and initiated a video call.
After a brief moment, the call connected. “Quinlyn, why are you looking for me? I’m currently in a meeting.” Leonard said. His face appeared on the screen, looking just as serious as in his bio picture.
Quinlyn felt a bit guilty and whispered, ‘I’m sorry for interrupting. I’ll reach out again when you’re-
Before she could finish, Leonard quickly interrupted, “It’s okay. Don’t hang up yet. Come on, say hi to your seniors.”
The camera shifted to reveal a long conference table surrounded by dozens of people.
Quinlyn had a vague sense that this scene looked familiar but obediently bowed. “Hello, everyone.”
The director was completely stunned, unable to speak. With Leonard’s appearance on the screen, it felt surreal–he even suspected the guy might be an Al impersonation.
But as the camera moved, the so–called seniors were revealed, each wearing lab coats and displaying faces now internationally recognized.
Among them was an archaeologist, who had never publicly appeared for safety reasons. The director had been lucky enough to do a single text–based interview before, so he instantly recognized the guy.
These people were genuinely real–Quinlyn wasn’t lying. But it seemed to be a bit overkill to involve such important fores -a whole roomful of them–for something this minor.
The director had always believed he had seen the limits of wealth, but time and again, his understanding was challenged. He was completely taken aback now.
“Hey Quinlyn, that fingerprint was lifted with black magnetic powder, right? Why are you carrying that around?” Leonard

asked
“Bennett gave it to me for fun.” Quinlyn replied.
“From the detective team!”
“Yeah”
The more Quinlyn spoke, the more she felt Leonard was taking her time. Eventually, she excused herself, saying the couldn’t chat any longer. She thought to herself, Why was everyone so chatty today? Now I’m feeling thirsty again.
Meanwhile, in the conference room on the other end. Leonard casually hung up the phone, stood up, and waved to the group of students. You guys keep going. I’m just here to take a look
After saying that, he happily whistled a tune as he left. Last time, Curtis had been the one showing off. Now, Leonard finally understood the satisfaction of introducing his star student in front of everyone
The group of interrupted research experts exchanged glances silently. Mr. Colbert, your dramatic gestures have revealed your true thoughts,”
On the filming set, with the fingerprints collected, the truth became crystal clear. Yolanda and Harriet found themselves at a loss for a defense–they never anticipated Quinlyn making such bold moves.
“Why set up Mandy? You’re not wanted here,” one kid shouted.
“Yeah, even back at school, you were a nuisance; nobody wants to hang out with you,” another chimed in.
A third one added, “And we don’t want to see that woman either.”
The chorus of strong objections against Harriet’s presence echoed around the kids. They might have short memories, but they weren’t amnesiacs. As Harriet wasn’t changing her ways and kept bullying others, they all ganged up on her.
Hearing their desire to get rid of even Yolanda made the director uneasy. She had been selected by the show’s biggest sponsor, and without her, the show might suffer.

He approached Yolanda, voicing his concerns. “Ms. Lynch, maybe it would be best if Harriet took a break. Given the recent events, it’s probably not a good time to stir up any more controversy.”
Yolanda picked up on the subtle hint. Thinking about the lingering negative news online, she nodded, suppressing her
irritation.
She turned to Raymond, explaining. “Sorry, I didn’t expect that kid to act this way. But she seems well–behaved, and there’s a spark in her eyes. Perhaps you should give her another chance. How about come over to my place tonight”
“Thanks, but sorry,” Raymond cut her off before she could finish her invitation. “After this incident, Im even more convinced that Quinlyn is the perfect partner for me.”
Yolanda was fuming. It seemed like she had been preparing the way for Quinlyn all along. But looking at Raymond’s flawless, handsome face, she could only play it cool. “Alright, I’ll keep that in mind.”
Raymond gave her a gentle smile. His mesmerizing eyes focused on hers, almost making her feel like she could drow their depths. “I know you understand me. If you could, please help me persuade Quinlyn,” he said.
Yolanda felt her cheeks flush and nodded involuntarily. Once she regained her composure, she glanced over at Quinlyn who was still helping Mandy try on clothes under the sun umbrella.

Chapter 124
“Quinlyn is truly my rival. It’s best to deal with her soon, she thought, a vengeful glint flashing in her eyes
Next to the deck chair. Quinlyn lifted her gaze, casually scanning the shooting area. That familiar sense of hostility returned. She had always been highly perceptive to animosity and could easily sense when it was directed her way.
Wow, those braids look great. But they seem really complicated, and we don’t have a stylist here” Mandy suddenly remarked, pointing at a model in a fashion magazine.
Quinlyn refocused her attention, noticing the elaborate hairstyle on the model. After studying it for a moment, she took the comb from the servant, stood behind Mandy, and skillfully began styling her hair.
“Quinlyn, you even know how to do this? That’s incredible Mandy exclaimed, watching Quinlyn’s swift movements in the mirror with admiration.
Tve done hander ones before, Quinlyn replied, her hands moving quickly
“Huh? Do you braid hair for people too? Mandy asked innocently.
“No.” Quinlyn shook her head, responding honestly. “I used to weave baskets.
Why does that feel a bit strange?‘ Mandy fell silent, frowning slightly.
Before being a lookout, Quinlyn had spent her childhood crafting items with Matthew to sell to the villagers
Later, she had made some little dragonflies and butterflies occasionally. The travelers bought them, saying they were popular overseas, and asked if she could produce them in bulk.
However, those creations were all Matthew had left her. Since she could already support herself, she turned down their offers.
Once Mandy’s braid was completed, the other kids immediately showered her with compliments when she returned to
them.
