Lennon’s voice carried a clear teasing. Mariela felt slightly annoyed.
Mariela frowned. She lowered her voice and said coldly, “Not at all.”
Lennon fixed his tender eyes on Mariela’s face. He explained in a pleasant and patient
voice, “Shayla’s grandfather and my grandmother are siblings, so she is my cousin. I will introduce you to each other another day.”

the scarf back into the box and gently placed it on Mariela’s desk.“Take the scarf.”
Lennon left.

Mariela smiled and said, “I agree.”
