She opened the box and found a white ladies‘ watch.
Mariela’s lips curled into a smile as she said, “Beautiful watch, thank you, Caylee.”
“I’m glad you like it. Let me help you put it on.”

Caylee helped Mariela with the watch, nodding.“It suits you well.”
Fiona said, “Marie, I didn’t get a gift since I was in treatment. When you’re free, I’ll take you shopping. You can pick anything you like. How’s that?”
Mariela smiled brightly,“Okay, then I won’t hold back.” They left the ward and the hospital.
In the parking lot, Mariela chatted and laughed with them.
“Guys, thanks for picking me up.”
Fiona smiled, “Babe, no need for all that with us.”
Caylee agreed, “Yeah, we’re like the ultimate BFFs.”
Bryce smiled gently, “No need to thank me either.”
They chatted briefly before leaving.
