Chapter 590
“Mr. Herman, you know Company Law, so you’re quite clear about what I mean, right?
After this, Eason was silent.
The elevator reached the basement.
Mariela got out and walked to her car.
In front of the white Rolls–Royce, Mariela threw the keys to Haylee.
“Mr. Herman, I hope you can set aside personal grievances for now. My skills are proven. I have three years of experience and numerous wins. Hiring me for your divorce will not be a mistake.”
Eason’s tone softened, “Why do you want to take my divorce case?”
Haylee opened the rear door for Mariela.
“Because I don’t want Perla to get the divorce.”
Mariela got in the car, smiling, “It’s exactly what I want to see if she’s not doing well.”
Eason was silent.
Before, Perla lived luxuriously with him, enjoying jewelry and expensive bags.
Now, with the company bankrupt, she wanted to divorce and leave their child to find someone else for a comfortable life. He would not allow such a thing to happen.
Perla could share wealth but not hardship and Eason couldn’t accept that.
So, he refused to divorce.
Mariela’s words seemed true to Eason because he knew Perla had looked down on and humiliated Mariela many times.
Haylee started the car, and the white Rolls–Royce left the parking lot.
“Mr. Herman, I’m going to the hospital to talk to you. Is that okay?”
Eason hesitated, then said, “Fine.”
Mariela said, “Mr. Herman, I suggest you keep unrelated people away until I get
there.”
“Unrelated people” meant Perla and Jaime.
She didn’t want interruptions during the discussion.
Eason replied, “I understand.”
Twenty minutes later.
Hospital.
Mariela and Haylee entered Eason’s room.
“Mr. Herman,” Mariela greeted.
