“Darryl, your car broke down, right? I’m sending my driver to pick you up now. I happen to be eating nearby.”

“The driver will be there soon.”
After hanging up, Lennon looked at Mariela, raising an eyebrow, as if to say, “See, I’m not lying.”
Then, he instructed the driver to drive away.
Before Mariela could speak, Jaida spoke up, “Lenny, let me take you home.”
Lennon replied coolly, “We don’t go the same way. My house is right next to the Logan’s villa. It’s more convenient.”
Mariela could see that Lennon and Darryl had just been acting.
But she didn’t expose them.
Lennon had already sent the driver away with the car. If she disagreed, Lennon would need to take Jaida’s car back. Mariela didn’t want Jaida to be alone with Lennon for no reason.
