Chapter 683
Marie’s heart trembled slightly.
After dinner, Marie had to go back to the law firm to work, and Lennon had to go back to the company to handle some matters. Lennon dropped Marie off at the entrance of the law firm and then left.

In early July, Marie went to the courthouse in a small county town of Woodbury for a trial.
Marie had originally planned to stay in Woodbury for only one night and return the next afternoon after the court hearing.
Although the small town is located in a remote area, the surrounding natural scenery is extremely beautiful and the tourism industry is well developed. There are many hotels and guesthouses in the city. Currently, it is the peak tourist season, and the hotels have raised their prices. The rooms that used to cost two to three hundred per night are now over a thousand per night.
Price was not an issue, and it was just difficult to book rooms during the peak tourist season. Fortunately, Marie had connections and was able to make a phone call in advance to book a twin room at the best hotel in town.
The conditions here may not be as good as those of five–star hotels, but at least the rooms were clean and the hygiene conditions were acceptable. Some basic facilities were also quite complete. On this business trip, for safety reasons, Marie also brought Haylee along.
Although the threats from Nikolas and Lauryn have been eliminated, this small town is remote and unfamiliar to Marie. It is still very dangerous for a woman to come here alone.
The court session was scheduled for the next day at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
The case was a bit complicated, and the trial had already ended at half past six in the afternoon. Coming out of the court, Marie immediately spotted a man leaning against a car not far away, making a phone call.
Lennon wore a simple black shirt, paired with dark casual pants that outlined his slender legs. At that time, the setting sun dyed the horizon with a gentle orange color, and the afterglow coated him with a faint golden radiance.
