Chapter 190
Just as the words fell, that familiar face, which couldn’t be any more familiar, appeared before everyone’s eyes.
Jaime, wearing a smoke gray combat jacket and holding a hiking stick in his hand, walked over in a few steps.

Lennon furrowed his brow and looked into Lauryn’s eyes with a gaze full of curiosity and reproach. The man’s voice carried a clear sense of displeasure as he asked, “When did you meet Jaime?”
Lauryn blinked her bright, big eyes, with a look of confusion and innocence shining in them.
“Jay was Kailey’s friend, and Kailey asked if she could bring a friend along. I said it was okay, and today Kailey brought him and that’s when I met him. Brother, do you have any questions?”
Mariela kept her lips pursed and remained silent, pretending not to know Jaime.
Jaime smiled inexplicably and greeted her proactively, “Mariela, I hope you are well.”
Lauryn looked at Mariela in surprise and said, “Marie, do you two know each other?”
Mariela:“I didn’t know.”
Jaime: “Nice to meet you.”
The two of them spoke in unison.
Lauryn–gave Kailey a signal on the side, and Kailey, being very astute, immediately asked in a sweet and coquettish voice, “Jay, what is your relationship with Ms. Logan? How come I’ve never heard you mention knowing Ms. Logan before?”
Jaime smiled and glanced at Mariela with an inexplicable meaning, then lightly uttered three words:“Ex–girlfriend.”
“Wow!” Lauryn exclaimed in surprise, looking at Mariela with shock. “Marie, you were Jay’s ex–girlfriend? I’m sorry, I had no idea you two had that history. If I had known, I wouldn’t have let him come.”
Mariela understood in her heart.
Sure enough, if the incident at the racecourse was a misunderstanding, what about this time?
-Kailey was unhappy and pouted at Jaime, jealously saying, “Hmph, Jay, are you intentionally using this mountain climbing trip as an excuse to
meet up with your ex–girlfriend?”
Jaime just smiled and didn’t answer, which was seen as an implicit agreement by others.
The atmosphere suddenly became subtle.
Fiona quietly approached Mariela and gently tugged at the hem of her clothes, whispering, “Is this really your ex–boyfriend?“.
Mariela made a barely audible “hmm” sound.
Fiona crossed her arms and whispered, “Tsk, I’m afraid Lauryn did it on purpose.”
Mariela coldly watched as these few people sang and acted in front of her.
She didn’t believe it was a coincidence.
Last time, her cousin Wesley hosted a banquet for her at the Shaw’s manor. Jaime caused such a big commotion at the banquet. Although Lauryn didn’t attend the banquet, being the adopted daughter of the Stark family, she couldn’t be completely unaware of these gossip topics in high society.
