“Ugh…” Darryl struggled to remove the steamed bun, but Fiona forcefully sealed his mouth shut, preventing him from taking it away.
On the table, a few people were being entertained by the two of them, and there was laughter and joy all around.
Over there, Lauryn was itching with hatred.
Mariela showed off her love so much that it was written all over her face.
Lauryn’s eyes turned sinister as she snapped the disposable fork in her hand.

After finishing their meal and taking a short rest, everyone prepared themselves to start climbing the mountain.
Darryl and Fiona walked in the front, followed closely by Carsen and Caylee, and then Jaime and Lauryn, among others.
Mariela and Lennon were walking at the back.
Lennon walked beside Mariela, holding her hand the whole time.
“Marie, does it take you more than two hours to get to the observation deck on the top of the mountain from here?”
“Of course, I really enjoyed mountain climbing, as it allowed me to experience the beauty of nature, unwind, and not get too tired.” Lennon knew that Mariela liked outdoor activities. Back in college, she used to go hiking and rock climbing with friends from the club frequently. He just thought that after Mariela graduated, she would rarely engage in outdoor activities and he was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to adapt.
Mariela smiled and said, “I have conquered even
higher and more treacherous mountains, so Whiteface Mountain is a piece of cake.” Lennon’s eyes were filled with indulgence and pride as he smiled gently, saying, “Our Marie is really amazing.”
“Of course.”
Lennon knew this, but Jaime did not know.
When Mariela and Jaime were together, they often suggested going hiking outdoors. Jaime would either say he didn’t have time or that hiking was too tiring.
He did not understand Mariela’s interests and hobbies, and he was not willing to spend time with her.
After walking for a while, Jaime suddenly stopped and stood by the path, stepping aside to let the people behind him go When Lennon and Mariela approached, Jaime reached out his hand towards Mariela and said, “Marie, are you tired?”
Mariela smirked, “Not tired.”
Lennon shook the tightly held hands of the two, saying, “No need to bother you.”
Jaime lowered his gaze, his eyes resting on the hands that were clasped together.
Mariela said impatiently, “Excuse me, you’re blocking the way.”
Jaime stood in the middle of the road, showing no intention of moving aside.
